Strolling around the internet today and came across this image from the Buffalo v NIU game.

A young Stingly takes flight as he attempts to block a punt.

Jimmie Ward (15) on the far right, Darnell Bolding (44) dropping back in coverage, and for you youngsters, no the white guy wearing #6 is not Jordan Lynch.

#6 kind of looks like Garret Barnas, but I believe he wore 38 or so.

Barnas went to high school in my conference and was a 2A football monster and a 1A track star. Probably the most athletic kid I've ever seen at that level of football. He could have been a successful 7A or 8A player in Illinois.

He was an amazing high school player. He would have been fine at any big school. He probably wouldn't have been a QB, but Naperville Central or Downers South would have loved having that kid.

Barksdale?

Sadly, still no.

I will be very impressed if anyone gets this.

I think he could have played QB for a dual threat offense or triple option.

He set a bunch of records at Harper JC. He was heavily recruited by Iowa and Syracuse to play QB but I think he had troubles qualifying academically out of high school.

I once saw him hurdle a dude that was close to standing about 4 and a half to 5 feet tall at the time of the hurdle, pretty crazy stuff.

He didn't pan out to a great college player but he was very athletic.

He had a terrific 2 years as Harper CC's QB. Won bowl games with them

Barnas played a big role of NIU beating Temple at Huskie Stadium. He had a hell of a game that day.

Jody was a favorite of Peej. He was always coaching him up in practice.

I wonder if Cole Van Laanen, an OT from up Green Bay way is related to Jody. Van Laanen was a great high school wrestler and his senior year, lost to a friends son in the 189 finals.
