Heard on Sports Center this is the first time in 15 years without a Busch in the Daytona 500. Wonder what "family name" holds the record for longest streak and also the most starts? Earnhardt, Waltrip, Jarrett, Labonte?

Holy crap. I must have had brain freeze by not including Petty in the family name list. Yes, as a car owner, the Wood brothers would be my first guess to be #1.

just found this trying to find a definitive answer to your question...

nascar families

It's a shame what happened to Adam....

getting ready to call my grandfather who is 96 now.....he would travel from StL when they raced on the beach....

calling him now.....

edit: he just told me he went to the inaugural race.....he's a pretty sharp tack....

RE: OT: Daytona
I hate it for Kyle Busch this weekend to get hurt, even though I've never liked him as a driver. Time will tell with Kurt Busch what actually happened and whether he still has a future in NASCAR. However, the guy clearly has issues with his temper and unfortunately his involvement in a domestic abuse case doesn't surprise me. I'm happy that Regan Smith has gotten a chance today though. I saw him win at Darlington in 2011.

The Allisons would be ahead of most of these. (Bobby, Donnie and Davey) but behind the Pettys (Lee, Richard, Kyle).

RE: OT: Daytona
For someone that doesn't really like racing much, I thought yesterday's race was pretty entertaining.
