Down meaning, NOT winning! Perfect for picking.....Cal could come in & own that town with "showtime Bruins" Google would invest 2bill in upgrades to the Wooden Arena.....Lakers would be 2nd fiddle in 2 years.....Kobe retires! Lakers are doomed!!!

UCLA could go undefeated for 3 seasons while the Lakers are mediocre and there would still be 0% chance that the Bruins are more popular...

More popular to the world, maybe not! But could easily be the toast of the town with Cal there.....No better salesman on the planet. ....don't underestimate that scenario. .....it's easy to say things if you are a laker fan! I'm NOT talking "fanatics" here! I'm talking after Kobe.......what is there to see in LA......No Durant No Lebron No Wiggins.....LA will struggle and become ripe for dethroning in LA! RE: UCLA hiring a new hoops coach?
I see bad times ahead for Kentucky. I've always kind of thought Cal would really like to be out near Hollywood and all the rich and famous types. You know he's gotta hate living in a hick town in Kentucky.

And everybody in Memphis knows how that goes -- Cal's schools get conditioned to his best four years and judge the next coach by that standard alone. And, of course, that means, just like here, no decent coach would dare follow Cal. They'll have to hire Robic or maybe their videographer this time.

Bad times ahead. Bad, bad, bad times. This we know from experience.

This is the best reason to go to UCLA. Tic Price would have had a field day there

Tic Price's wife would have to take her skillet (or whatever the hell it was) to the batting cages to get her strength and endurance up too.

RE: UCLA hiring a new hoops coach?
Complete and utter crap.
I am by no means a UK fanboi...but they have one hell of a compliance officer in Sandy Bell....she isn't anything like RC Johnson or Shirley Raines.
John doesn't have to promote UK as much....because they are at the top. A lot of major recruits want to go there because they see it as a stepping stone to the NBA.

The NCAA is not sniffing around UK. Google it. If it were true...there would be a lot of rumors. The only place I have see something like this is HERE...nowhere else.
It it were AAA or Easterwood saying it...I might tend to believe it....so as such...I'm not even taking it with a grain of salt.
It isn't true.

UCLA is a bigger get than UK! JS and Cals presence there would be like the second coming of Elvis......Come on man Hollywood vs Georgetown,KY! can't be serious......Cal would be in shape.....look like he's 25 when he's 80......get to hang out with HH Brad Pitt.....all you got in KY is Ashley Judd........come on! Seriously ! That's how you retire.....on the beach in the Hills of Hollywood compared to the Hills of Kentucky?

IN them "Hills of Kentucky", John has a chance to surpass UCLA as college basketball's greatest college program of all time by winning more than 11 national championships.
If he were to move to UCLA at this point....he'd have to rebuild...and wait for at least a year or two before he started making an impact.
Cal is not a spring chicken anymore.
Lexington might not be Hollywood....but here he is THE man. There are no divided loyalties. All the media points at him here....and that is all he needs.
In Los Angeles, you have baseball fans, hockey fans, basketball fans (pro) etc etc.
In Lexington, KY...he is at the only sport that matters to this state.

If you are going to make a Cal going to UCLA argument...try harder friend.

What are you talking about? Me, a fanatic of the Lakers? That is about as laughable as the premise that UCLA could become more popular in in LA than the Lakers. LA is one of the biggest markets in the NBA and has better tradition than any other NBA franchise. They are not going 4 or 5 years without a superstar on their roster... Even if they did, UCLA would not become a bigger deal in LA...

Look at UCLA's attendance figures. When they had their 3 year run of Championship game, Final Four, and Final Four they did not even crack the top 25 in attendance figures. Which means they could even get 12,600 to show up for games...

Those statements further emphasize why LA, is MORE attractive! For a couple of years Cal could disappear from the spotlight that shines on him constantly @ UK. ....it's actually a white-hot light, all-the-while raking in MEGA $$$....that's NOT something to sneeze @.....

But don't underestimate the influence of Cal being a media darling either....as he does his MM rituals & routines & including the culture that he thrives in,he could totally cause a shift excitement that only a California quake could register. ....Hip hop rules the world now....as we look@ NBA all star games....the superbowl. ....even @ UK Drake cause media hysteria in freakn Kentucky. ....

Look @ where Cal took Memphis also....we're we ever as famous before Cal? If he brings in Lebron during MM do you think they would fill that arena? If Google offers to remodel the arena with state-of-the-art equipment would that bring influence?
Cal is extremely influential and he will go where $.... $ex.....& power emin8$ from!

The fan issue is easily solved as fans follow the entertainers....so when Cal brings in Drake,Rhianna,Nicky Menage, Taylor Swift,Beyonce,JayZ, LilWayne,Gaga the fans will flock as well......Don't underestim8 Cal, Hollywood & the influence of these entertainers....That's what everything evolves around in this era....so if the powers that be want Cal....He is going to fulfill the agenda...only so much can be done from Kentucky....Nicky menage aint goin to Kentucky

So again, without Kobe, what is there to see as a Laker fan??? The media will use tactics that control/sway the masses.....Imagine the influence of this scenario.....If Cal goes to LA, then the next step would be to become Lakers coach and bring in Wiggins,Lebron,Durant,Love,Kyrie......That would cause hysteria in a very short time

Stop thinking as a fan.......sounds like Cowboys fans........very unrealistic!

Thag8r = running on empty.
