It's Time....
Im tired of losing to XU and tired of not being relevant nationally.

Its time to get the Tu Holloways, Ruben Pattersons, Art Longs in here and Im not kidding.

Its time to be Men in Black again, time to have swagger, time to have muscle, time to put fear in people. I will gladly take a thug edge and the good with the bad.

What say you?

I think that's a pretty severe overreaction over a 1 point loss

We were top 10 and nationally relevant for all of last season.

I say no. With the exception of VCU, and maybe a couple others, we have been in evey game with one senior (who i feel is a bench filler). We can look like a top 25 team, and the next game
look like a MAC team. You are an ardent fan, keep rooting.

Made the sweet sixteen a few years before that. Have made the tournament a few years in a row. I think you're sick of not being one of the top programs in the country. We're still relevant

Like I mentioned on another thread, coaches have made the comment in private that the Thug U. rep we've been stuck with from the Huggins years has hurt recruiting because it turns the parents off. Please, no more alleged horse punching, baby sitter jumping, gun toting, condom stealing, burning with a heated coat hanger, etc....

You can get as tough as you want, but when the other team makes 10 threes you're probably going to lose - happened last year, happened this year

WTF............... We had condom stealers, I can live with the rest of this but we got to draw the line somewhere and I say no more condom stealers.

Yeah, as I recall Soulyman(sic?) got accused of trying to sneak a box of rubbers thru the checkout at Krogers.03-lmfao

Ditto. That "thug" reputation, whether it's fair or not, takes years to shake. To Mick's credit, he gets high marks from national media for how he runs the program. I don't think the ACC or B12 would have seriously considered UC during that era for that reason alone.

So, it's got to be done right: players graduating, attending classes and minimal off court problems. I also understand and support the idea that the program needs to be winning more in year nine of rebuilding but don't believe going back in time will prepare UC for the promising future we must envision.

Jamal Warren wrecked a car post midnight, did not have a license to drive, and then left the scene of the accident. Enquirer buried that on page 28 somewhere. They usually treat bearcat criminal matters on page 1 so that it surprised me that they gave the X treatment. The program has been pretty darn clean, which is great.

Groeschen was all over the football arrests early in the season and Enquirer ran that stuff pretty high profile.

I think it's a lot easier for xu to cover up player shenanigans because as I understand it, many of the Norwood police are xavier grads and they just call the xu cops to come get'em after the bust and then it disappears down the memory hole.

Current UC coaches? If so, I call bull sh*t on it being anything other than excuse making.

We've been that most of the past 5 years. I'm tired of losing to them too but you can't start this thread during a year that everyone understood would be a down one. They had way more talent then we did last night and we easily could've stolen that game. With the toughness Mick gets his players to play with all we need is 1 or 2 guys capable of knocking down a big jumpshot and we are as formidable as anybody in college basketball. That being said we've had a lot of recruiting misses during those last 5 years and there will be a lot of pressure on the squad next year.

Yeah I hate losing these games but still, I wouldn't trade Cronin for Mack.

I'd kill for his recruiting classes, though.

Just curious, can xu still take nonqualifiers?
