I'm going with three other students. Their arena looks crappy in pictures... this will be my first trip there. Hopefully we bring a few hundred to show our support!

Maybe A hundred if the weather isn't bad. I'll be there with at least my brother.

It's a weird design for an arena. There's no seats behind the baskets, but there is balconies above them.

Their football stadium is weird, too.

Looks like the snow forecast has backed off a little, so your trip up might not be too bad.

Put me in that category. I haven't been there, but pictures of it reminds me of a mini-Hinkle Fieldhouse (where I have seen a game).

but for some reason they rotated the court 90 degrees. Lots of seats in the middle but it knocked down the capacity by several thousand.

it seats close to 6000 and attendance is about half that for good games. their crowd will cheer when they play well but it isn't usually an intimidating environment. when the rockets are playing well a few loud rocket fans close to the court can make a lot of noise (I've been one). the acoustics are unique and you can usually sneak down by the court if you sit underneath the baskets.

western doesn't have the greatest sports facilities but they have some character and are nestled in and around campus. a better road trip than easter for sure as long as the you don't hit lake effect snow on the 94 in western michigan as you get close to kalamazoo. they play most of their saturday games in the afternoon so good for driving.

My outdoor thermometer just price-lined a ticket to Barbados. It's not taking me. :(


Weather says it's expected snow and 30 tomorrow. From -10 to 30 means some goodly winds. Safe trip!

We're driving the focus... Hope we dont blow over! Should be a doozy of a game... WMU beat us with solid play in Savage. Them having Richie back throws a wrench in the MAC race. Being a few gsmes behind puts em at a disadvantage where they could have to go 5 in a row in Cleveland... I hope they get tired of going backdoor

Snow might put me out tomorrow. Going play it by ear

I like the new version much better. Why have so many seats behind each baseline? Give the majority of the fans a quality vantage point.

Also, reducing capacity is not always a bad thing. UT took out 2,000 to 2,500 seats and the arena is much better because of the improvements that led to those seats being removed.

They closed i-94 at exit 133 heads up

We got here in 2 hours and 15 minutes and that's with a subway stop. A car had just gone off the road so must be where it's closed
