Cajun football signed 24 whose recruiting class ranked 1st in SBC
Louisiana's recruiting class – ranked first among the Sun Belt Conference schools by both Scout.com and 247Sports.com – included five offensive linemen, three wide receivers, three defensive backs, three athletes, a pair of quarterbacks, two running backs, two linebackers, and one player each at tight end, punter, kicker and defensive line.

The Sun Belt Conference ranked last, 11th, out of all the Conferences and Independents.

BRAZIL’S BOUNCEBACK
Jeryl Brazil was never a part of UL’s commitment list, as multiple national website suggested was the case, and he was not a part of Wednesday’s signing class, as some Cajun fans suspected would be the case but no one with the football program ever did.According to Hudspeth, however, the former LSU running back — now on a track scholarship at UL — does want a shot at playing football for the Cajuns, as chronicled earlier this week.Hudspeth still is open to the possibility.“I have not had any in-depth discussions with him about that yet,” he said Wednesday, “but we’re hoping that’s gonna happen.”If Brazil does wind up playing football as a Cajun, he’d have to either be switched to a football scholarship or forgo his track scholarship.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns added another highly-touted recruiting class on Wednesday as fifth-year head coach Mark Hudspeth and his staff added 24 players, including eight from the state of Louisiana, along with prospects from five other states and Australia.

Thursday morning there was a new addition to the Louisiana commit list
Coach Hudspeth and his staff added a 25 signee to the 2015 Class signing Tyler Junior College defensive back Savion Brown (6'2,205)

"I'm really proud of our staff, this is a great recruiting class and the future of our program," Hudspeth said. "We did feel like we did meet just about all of our needs in recruiting. I really feel great about our class. It's great that we already have five players enrolled (in school) and are going through our workouts. It's going to be a lot of fun as we unveil the future of our program."

Doesnt ESPN own Scout or are they seperate? I dont know but ESPN's rankings are different with GS recruiting class being the best in the SB. Seems funny to me how these things are different. I always liked Rivals because they didnt give out stars so easily to the players.

They are all run by different people, who all have their own idea of rankings

Rivals has Arkansas State first
ESPN has Georgia Southern First
Scout and 247 have the Cajuns first

One note about scout is that it still has the Cajuns with 27 commits, when they only signed 24. Not sure why that is, but it certainly impacts the rankings.

Our signing class was so good that they each of those 24 rank as 1.125 human, hence the extra 3. You should read the papers more often.

It bears repeating that ESPN is far and away the worst when it comes to ranking anything but the P5 (and not all of them). For instance, they still have Dexter Carter, Jr listed in GaSou's class when he decommitted before Signing Day. I can't speak for Rivals or Scout, but I know that 247 made a good faith effort to rate as many players as possible in every class. The 247 evaluators spent the few days after Signing Day going through classes and looking at film at players that weren't rated. I doubt they got everyone, but they covered quite a bit of ground.
I'm not trying to crap on the service that rates GaSou the highest. I'd say the same thing if USA were picked #1 in the conference by ESPN.

How are recruiting rankings determined? ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 247 break out the process

Fans can see the end result in the recruiting rankings, but rarely get to find out the why. Intent on offering transparency, AL.com spoke with national recruiting experts at the four major services to find out what goes into the recruiting rakings process and why they all differentiate.

If I was green at much of this and read the article I would say that 247 and ESPN had it right as far as rating the players. Im sure they all have hits and misses. In the end they all are fairly close overall it seems.

No one can really say who gets it right. We all probably agree with the service that ranked our team highest. In that case Rivals is far better than the others and I probably know as much as everyone else on here. Not a lot. You may know your guys well but not the kids signed by everyone else. Like most things it's all opinions and one is as good as another.

Based on 247sports.com, Northern Illinois from 2010-2014 was never ranked higher than 99 in team rankings, yet they won at least 11 games per season from 2010-2014. Utah State is 30-11 the past three seasons and they were never ranked higher than 107 from 2010-2014.

I think you need to get the guys for your system and develop them. Being ranked #75 or #105 isn't going to make much difference.

I've said similar before. Once you get outside of 50 IMO, you could be ranked 60 or 80, and it probably isn't that big of a difference if you get the right guys for your system, and have a coaching staff that can develop the talent. But now, there is probably a big difference between 60 and 110. lol

It's almost impossible to put a ranking on how a kid will do transferring from the high school or JUCO game to FBS. it's just someone's opinion especially at ESPN where Luginhill comes up with all the rankings based on his opinion alone from a few games on film

I agree with what most are saying about the system developing the players. I mean, how do you thing UGA feels about the Isaiah Crowell Experience or how LSU feels about the Ryan Perrilloux Experience? We're talking about 18 year-olds here. I've made a career of working with kids and I still can't tell what's going to happen with a teenager, especially when they move from HS to college and become famous at the same time.

I gave up on rankings when 4* Star Jackson couldn't get past 3rd string on our depth chart.

There are just too many variables for it to be accurate, how many of these kids are rated low because they play at a tiny rural school in a town with population of a 1000 and probably have subpar coaching and very limited Strength and conditioning resources. How many of these kids are instantly upgraded when they hit campus because theyade finally taught proper technique.
