I'm not ready to give up on KJ, but i've NEVER been impressed by Sanders. Sure, Sure,,he can launch 3's now and then, and even make a couple. But wow..
can anyone honestly say they will miss him next year?

I think Sanders is hurt. He had a few weeks where he played very well and the team was playing at a high level. I remember the coaching staff discussing something about a groin injury, either way his shot hasn't looked good over the last three games.

Johnson seems to play nervous or too fast. I would groom him to be a small forward and not a shooting guard unless his ball handling improves. He plays good defense but is a turnover machine.

I no issues with Cobb, usually JUCO players have roller coater type seasons during their junior year. He was a huge factor in three of the biggest wins this seasons, the two SMU games and the SDSU victory.

Mormon drives me crazy with his poor FT shooting and lack of team basketball awareness. He has the tools to be nice role player the next three years.

My issue with Cobb is he just takes way to many bad shots. He did play well in a few wins, but what concerns me more:

Our 9 losses he's 24/76 (.316) from the field with a grand total of 3 FTA.

Mormon may not shoot great from the line, but it's still more PPS than Cobb is averaging Mormon and Cobb both have made 26 free throws this year, Mormon has done that in 241 min of play - Cobb in 583. He's our 6th man and all he does is jack shots.

And speaking of team basketball awareness, how many 3's has Cobb jacked up in close games in the last 5 mins of a game.

What was he, about 3 for 12 the other night? This kid kills us more games than not. He has no conscience, I will give him that.

He chucks up shots way early in the clock, sometimes on our own breaks, that too often turn into break outs by the bad guys. Just gives away so many possessions. And if he is not set and square...forget it. No chance.

Caupain is a good shooter but he doesn't shoot that much (likely why he makes outside shots at a good clip). I think Sanders can shoot but he's been terrible of late and is now well below 30% from 3 this year. Thomas, Morman, and Kevin Johnson are all poor outside shooters.

I mean, if Cobb isn't shooting, this team won't hit an outside shot. Kills us? No way.

Cobb would have been great that one year where we just waited until the last 5 seconds of the shot clock to jack up hopeless threes

Cobb hasn't been that much better than the guys you listed as poor outside shooters. You're talking about the difference between being a 30% and 33% shooter at this point. Johnson, Cobb and Sanders all have to shoot better down the stretch if we want to go anywhere this year.

The answer is, this team has no answer on offense.

I guess Cronin gets a pass this year. Next year should be interesting.

I think most of it can be blamed on Mick's selection of his assistant coaches. Apparently none of them are very good offensive coordinators.
I understand in practices, that mick does most of the work so it falls back on his shoulders. Mick, it's time you drop the GCL high school offense strategies and start watching some films of teams that score.
