Van Exel must have been mistaken about Jackson. He is shooting 48.3% from the line on the year. A smaller sample size, since 1/1 he is 18/38 47.4%

I say UC 66
X 57

"2. NVE was guest caller, coaching JJ in " d league " in Texas, spoke of how he cured JJ's bad free throw shooting in minutes, said he is now a machine, and wondered why the hell they didn't fix it up here in four years."

Is this a bit concerning to anyone else or is it just me?

It doesn't appear to be true:

So no. Maybe it was some dry humor from Van Exel. I didn't listen.

Mick saying he thought it would be tough to score against Xavier was far more concerning considering their defense kinda blows.

That's because XU's most effective defensive alignment is the 1-3-1 zone. Mack stated the other night that is what they plan on using the most against UC. We all know how well UC does against the zone. 03-puke

RE: Crosstown Shootout Prediction Thread
If Cobb and Johnson hit a few early 3s and feel like they're in the zone our chances go way up for winning. Keep the crowd in it, hopefully there won't be too much blue in the stands, and keep the pressure on X. Sadly this has also given us some of the most heart-wrenching moments for the Bearcat faithful. Something about this game always seems to bring out the best in X. I don't feel like we've ever had that big moment, a buzzer beater or a big comeback to win a Crosstown Shootout (correct me if I'm wrong).

Heck even after watching this to pump me up I realized how long it's been since UC has had a huge moment like that. I guess the last one would be SK draining UConn in Storrs a few years ago. Let's make some magic tonight for the good guys!

Made the mistake of perusing the Xavier message board in anticipation for tonight's game. Wow, the absolute blind hatred of everything UC is hilarious. From our arena, coaches, fans, and uniforms, it is nonstop. I guess I had forgotten how inferior there fans feel in regards to UC.

It's just tooo easy.

So why is there a statue of Yosemite Sam standing in front of that ugly gray warehouse building?

Can't begin to predict tonight's outcome but I do expect UC's energy and focus to be more like the UCONN game; 5th/3rd will roar and if Cobb gets hot I like the Bearcats.

Since the 90 season, I don't think any of UC's wins have been by less than 10 points. Maybe once by 9. Xavier on the other hand has won 6 games by 2 points, another game in double OT by 4 and another by 5 I believe. So basically they have won a ton of close games in the series recently. We haven't won any.

Cashmere Wright banked in runner at MSG to beat Georgetown in Double OT later that season.

Found this string of emails on Lance McAlister's twitter page. In a recent interview with Mick, Mick talked about the behavior of XU fans and how they threw paint on Hep and President Williams. The XU fans are acting like it is something that Mick just made up.

‏@LanceMcAlister 1h1 hour ago Most interesting comment in that interview.....Mick's story of his dad and UC president being hit with paint balls. #Bearcats #Xavier

@LanceMcAlister do you find it odd that this is the first time we would have heard about the prez of UC getting hit with a paintball at X??

@LanceMcAlister I've never ever heard of that happening. Ever. #madeup

@LanceMcAlister yes, and that is the first time mick(Brian Williams )Cronin has ever mentioned this story
