It's Judy's turn to cry.

She was a Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows pop icon in her day. Couldn't turn on a transistor radio without hearing Lesley Gore.

"You Don't Own Me" was one of my faves. Haunting.

Cool. Thanks Bill.

edit: just had to add this studio version - love the orchestration, perfect counterpoint for her powerful, evocative voice

Never heard that either, at least that I remember. I'm feeling nostalgic for the 60s all of a sudden...

RE: RIP Leslie Gore
yup..lol. The good ole days of Bobby, Johnny, Judy.....

It's Fat Tuesday, Y'all. Party down.

Is there a depressed low energy feel lately..? Seems like.
I wish I were in N'Orleans...listening to music or doing something mindless.

It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder - SAD (appropriate, huh?)

I get it every year beginning immediately after New Year's and it doesn't let up until buttercups bloom and I can open my windows again.

SAD hits me very hard. I absolutely loathe cold weather.

And why I love Spring Training so much. It's a sign that the days of Summer are coming soon.

RE: RIP Leslie Gore
For real...people come in with scripts from their docs for D3

...symptoms of SAD may be due to changing levels of vitamin D3
, the hormone of sunlight, leading to changes in brain serotonin. Forty-four healthy subjects were given 400 IU, 800 IU, or no vitamin D3 for 5 days during late winter in a random double-blind study. Results on a self-report measure showed that vitamin D3 significantly enhanced positive affect and there was some evidence of a reduction in negative affect."

Another one people use is Rhodiola Rosea.
