This, I can totally understand. As I have been in that situation before. Frankly, I loved it, but talking about a revolving door. We had one guy who lasted until lunch on his first day, never to be heard from again. We had our Head Engine builder complain that his lawn hadn't been mowed for over a month due to working so much and his grass was up to his thigh. We sent the guy who cut the grass at our shop over to his house to mow the lawn. As stated it takes a total commitment at least in the beginning when you are trying to set standards and expectations.

Though, I will not discount that the coaches also have a difficult time visioning an FBS move for JMU with an increase in their pay. Much the same as the fans. We had some guys working for peanuts prior to winning the NASCAR Championship, and I can assure you that had they not been given a healthy bonus along with a substantial raise, they would have bolted for a bigger paycheck in a minute. Their stock was high, they knew it and we knew it. Much is the same with EW's coaches. They have demonstrated they know what it takes to win, or were at least a piece of the puzzle to winning, and it is time for some to capitalize.

EW has been around for some time and should have a long list of candidates for his team of coaches.

Offense yes, defense, no. No JMU defensive coach is going to get a promotion based on last season's defensive performance.

You could be right, but I think you are overlooking the positive trajectory of the "D" over the course of the season.

Totally agree, after the first four games some changes were made and the "D" was as good as any in the conference.

Yeah, the defense improved after the 1st 4 games, but after that not even close to being tops in the conference. After the 1st 4 games, 7 of those last 8 games were CAA games. CAA Games only stats JMU was 7th in scoring defense, 10th in total defense. Rush defense was 7th, pass defense was 11th.
