BSU is in real trouble and could be 2 - 12 a week from now...

MIA has a chance to be 4 - 10 and a road team for the opening round.

NIU could be 4 - 10 or as good as 6 - 8. 4-10 NIU goes on the road.

Ohio, same as NIU.

IF we get at least ONE win this week, we'll be sitting pretty good with 6.

RE: The Race to Cleveland
There are a lot of mixed opinions on the tourney format, esp. with the double bytes for the top two teams.

ONE thing I've never heard: This format makes for a much BETTER tourney. There are no terrible matchups (e.g., #1 seed vs. the lowest seed, e.g., 1 / 16 in the NCAAs). If we had a top 25 or 40 team, that team wouldn't be played until the semis. A Cinderella team gets a few days of glory before meeting the top dog.

The key is not so much the opening round on campus sites (although I'm sure #12 would rather play #5, then a #1 seed), BUT the 2nd round. There will be four teams from those ranked 5 - 12 playing each other Wed. in CLE.

Compare this to a 'typical' 8 team tourney: #1 plays #8. #8 maybe has a 90+% chance of losing and is gone.

In our MAC tourney, the winners of the first round will play a team ranked no higher than #5.

So the SECOND round is highly competitive, theoretically the 5 - 8th best teams playing each other.
So in the MAC tourney, a weak team (e.g., 9 - 12) still has a decent chance to win and then play a good, but not dominant team in CLE.

good point. there are a lot of good games during the MAC tourney, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Let the SEC keep Kentucky. 03-lmfao We got parity. :)

Our tourney will be more interesting then the SECs. The SEC tourney will be 'clicker alert': Sit and watch ANOTHER tourney, but change the channel if Kentucky is in a competitive game late.
