Kap & Haugh
For those of you who missed Kap and Haugh on Comcast Sportsnet (9am-noon), they had Jordan Lynch in the studio from about 11:15 to 11:40 talking about signing with the Edmonton Eskimos. They came back from first commercial with the Huskie Fight Song and returned from another break with the Edmonton Eskimo fight song (didn't even know there was such a thing).
Jordan did a nice job of politely acknowledging he was disappointed in the amount (read lack) of reps he got with the Bears. Shared a few stories from his NIU days including being recruited and the fact he became a Huskie strictly because of Jerry Kill. Sorry to disappoint some of you, but Jordan insisted that anyone who has played for Jerry Kill knows he's a class act and that Kill cares about developing a relationship with his players. Lynch politely didn't take the bait about experiences against Haugh's Ball State alma mater, instead saying you root for your fellow MAC members. Talked about how lucky he was to have played for all three NIU coaches and a Huskie trademark is big linemen and teammates who all play "with a chip on their shoulders." Whenever his CFL experience ends, he wants to get into collegiate coaching. Also got complimented by Kap for sticking up for Chicago pizza rather than the thin, greasy stuff in New York. Lynch said night before Heisman show the finalists went out for pizza and he's not sure if that was the cause, but he had flu-like symptons the next day. Getting invited to New York, meeting the previous Heisman winners and sitting with Barry Sanders were all highlights. Bottom line in my book, he was, remains, and always will be an individual highlight for NIU athletics.

Excellent and informative post. Thanks for sharing. Jordan is indeed a very special person. Best of luck to him in the CFL.

Thanks! great post.

Though the title, Kap and Haugh threw me for a loop, I thought we were talking about the ill-fated team of Colin Kaepernick and Jim Hardbaugh.

Thanks for posting this link and thanks for posting this thread. It was so nice to hear Jordan Lynch interviewed on WGN. He is such a class act, I hope that he has a great pro football career in Canada and perhaps later in the NFL.

Wherever his career takes him, I am confident in his long term success.
