I don't think McConnell's gonna budge on this one. That was one of his promises, that there wouldn't be any major rules changes like that (nor do i think he should).

Let the Democrats get the "Party of No Votes allowed" label on something like this.

Not to change the subject but why did they create the Department of Homeland Security? Couldn't they have just beefed up the FBI/CIA, etc rather than creating a whole new bureaucracy which now still would have to work with the FBI, CIA, etc.

IMHO, the dept of defense was created to manage the defense of our country... So, why have a redundant department?

GOP and DEMS are very similar in policies as well as in double standards.

Well except for pointing out that somewhere in there when dealing with a libertarian politician there has to be some policy issue somewhere that is so far out thee that it counteract whatever decent policy stances they might have had elsewhere.
