Baseball opener vs Richmond
The season opens at 4 PM today. Junior righty Nick Monroe (1-4, 4.23 ERA, 30 K's, 55.1 innings), who was 2 outs away from a perfect game last year against Liberty, will be the starting pitcher for the Hawks.

Beat the Ticks!

After a 1-2-3 inning for Monroe, Casey Golden gets things going for the Hawks with a 2-run homer in the first!

Richmond's bats come alive after 3 hitless innings, tied at 2 in the 4th. On offense, 2 pickoffs and a caught stealing have cost us 2+ runs so far.

Gavin Stupiensky, manning the cleanup spot, delivers a big 2-run single! 4-2 in the 5th, Hawks still batting

Ramsey entered for Monroe in the 6th and is in his 2nd inning of duty. Looking very sharp, As he has in practice as well.

Seahawks up 7-2. Through 7 innings Monroe and Ramsey have combined for 10 strikeouts.

Ramsey, with 4 K's, begins his 3rd inning of work.

Ramsey with another perfect inning, with 2 K's. He's just mowing them down now. He'd have gone 9 up 9 down if Linkous didn't drop a fly ball. Very impressive.

Ramsey in there for the save. He finally gave up his first hit but is just 1 out away.

Hawks win! Ramsey the clear player of the game today. 4 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit, 8 K's and no walks to earn the save. Monroe was solid as well to earn the W. 3 Seahawks with 2 RBI apiece. Impressive start to the season!

Great start to the season for our offense. Any other games of interest finish up around the league yet?

RE: Baseball opener vs Richmond
Yep.

* Charleston beat a ranked South Carolina team 6-3.
* Delaware beat Georgetown 3-0 and trails Wake Forest 2-0 in the 7th.
* Elon is beating Penn St 16-12 in the 9th.
* JMU beat Buffalo 5-4 and Gardner-Webb 9-6.
* Towson plays USC later at 9.
* Hofstra faces UCLA at 9 as well
* Northeastern opened with Incarnate Word and they are tied 0-0 in the 3rd.

Nearly a perfect day for the CAA. W&M with the only loss thus far, a 9-4 setback to Ole Miss.

Way to screw it up WM.

Time to go over to the "Waste Management" boards and let them have it...

I'll return later.

Good win today, but let's not get crazy. Our Ace is now spent for Sat. Let's hope that we can get the game come Sat!
