College baseball season begins
Looks like Western Kentucky has an early 2-1 lead on a top-25 team in Maryland.

Okay, am I the only one who can't figure out d1baseball's new scores format? I'm not sure how their app is supposed to work on the front page. I see a lot of scores that are scrolling left to right and up and down through the 5 or 6 columns they have for scores. But is there any rhyme or reason to which scores are displayed and in what order? Guess I'm being contrarian but I miss the old scoreboard already.

I think those scrolling links may be gametracker's doing and not d1baseball? In any case, this is a better link to keep up with scores.

http://www.d1baseball.com/daily/today.htm

You still have those scrolling scores at the top of the page but the bottom half of the page has the traditional D1 scoreboard. Maryland now leads WKU 7-3.

I believe the directional scrolling is a function of how many Asian or Jewish players the teams have.

Scores seem a little higher early on. Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 18-1 if that means anything.

Can someone suggest the best way to track Owls baseball games in iOS? The usual sports apps don't usually cover NCAA baseball.

1. Go to d1baseball.com - go to scores - find our game - and click on Live Stats. This Gametracker function is now viewable in IOS.

2. Free radio broadcasts are available at the following portal.stretchinternet.com/rice/

3. If you subscribe to Owlvision, the is now an iOS app that allows you to watch on iPhone/iPad/TV through Airplay.

Hope this helps.

Are you going to this page: http://www.d1baseball.com/daily/today.htm or looking at the scrolling feed on the home page?

The 'Today's Scores' page is very similar to the old scores page.

There's only supposed to be one scorebar at the top, with the option of selecting which conference you want. There were some technical issues with that early in the day, but if should be good now (if it isn't, hitting refresh should resolve it).

And other than the headers and footers, selecting "Today's Scores" will bring up the same version of the scoreboard that's always existed.

Much better. Glad it was just an opening day glitch and not a permanent addition. Hopefully we'll get our opening day glitches taken care of too.
