I would say leaving college early for the job you want speaks of accomplishment not quitting

HoD

It's not an excuse. I gaurantee you my state does better than your state. You want to compare one school. Let's try to compare it then. I'll put up Ottawa Hills in Toledo Ohio. Public School. I'll look for metrics. They have to take everybody who lies in their school district. Can your "public" school say the same?

My school was ranked in the top 100 in a national publication and we have the banner outside our school.

I just looked here.

Why is Mach so butthurt?

Oh, its because that guy who didnt finish college was able to defeat the unions in his state, even after they bussed in union deadbeats from other states. Then he did it again. Then he did it again.

Yet, this clown below finished college (yet wont release his transcript), and Mach wets his pants.

Yup, he's very butthurt that the school in Alabama is better than the best in his state. That fact is settled so let's get off this distraction.

Oh well, moving on. Back to Howard Dean and Walker before Mach has a come-apart.

This

Besides, the guy has all the experience of being in college, having gone for four years, he just doesn't have the piece of paper.

Is education really just about the slip of paper?

Like a livable wage? Controlling for inflation, our minimum wage has decreased and our average wage has stayed constant, despite large growths in overall wealth.

Livable wage ... what a f-ckin joke. Those dock workers make an average salary of $145,000. Half of them obviously make more than that.

Unions only extort higher wages than what a job would pay in a free market.

Of course they do, but so does a minimum wage or any wage control. As for the dock workers, the vast minority is not the rule, and is not compelling evidence that every union must go unless you're swayed by illogical arguments.

UCF, those unions driving up wages beyond market and government dictated wage controls, including something such as upping the minimum wage to $12 or $15 per hour do nothing more than drive jobs offshore. The effect is that instead of some guy having a job slightly under waged, he has no job.

You tell me which scenario is better.

First of all I looked up top public schools. A school in Alabama didn't come up. Second of all, I would like to know what are the admission requirements. Of course you could have an EXCELLENT public school for the top 5% at the expense of the other 95%. Would this surprise anybody?

Just think if Bill Gates had only finished school, maybe he would have made something out of himself.

We've seen what a Harvard graduate can do to the country for the last eight years, a college dropout can't do any worse.

Yet, Ohioans are still fleeing that shithole of a state like its a house on fire, partially bc of union corruption. I know for a fact. Raleigh and Charlotte, NC is crawling with carpetbaggers from Ohio.

You've yet to address my point about academic rankings reflecting the local population. Thats all they are. If youve got a lot of parents with college degrees you'll have good rankings. That doesnt say **** about the teachers themselves.

Actually you can show the opposite. There used to be school districts that had funding from power plants in their district before utility deregulation. The kids came from parents with the same demographics as neighboring districts. These schools that spent twice to three times the per pupil average of their neighboring districts beat their neighboring district scores in every conceivable metric.

If only Mark Cuban had stayed in College the Mavs would have won so many more championships
Or if Walt Disney had completed college he could have had Disney Galaxy instead of just Disney World.

Yep. That all important piece of paper.

To you, obviously.

Honest to god, how have we gotten to a place where we judge someone's success, not on what he has accomplished in his life, but what a piece of paper says he did at 22 years old? Do you really want to go there and make that argument?

My mistake. I keep thinking he left IU. It was his senior year in High School he didn't attend.
