While I would love to get carried away by this early season offensive output, a check of the statistics shows that NIU has been walked 22 times and hit by pitch 8 times in 2 games. A good job by the team getting on base and I hope the timely hitting continues. A very nice start by Sisler, he has come a long way from his freshman season.

Ha, small sample size, for sure.

Looks like their scheduling is a little easier this year as well. Not opening up against a top 10 team in the country like in the past few seasons. It's always hard for a Northern team to compete against teams from Texas, Florida, and Arizona. Kudos to Kent State a few years ago for going far in the tourney.

Recruiting all those short, fat kids has really worked out.

Nice to hear about the baseball team starting out with some wins. Always seemed like they would dig such a deep holes with losses to start the year it was hard to gain momentum.

I like how the coach is using a lot of pitchers each game.

Obviously next weekend will be the first real test as Texas Tech was listed #5 in the preseason poll and swept the University of San Francisco in 4 games. Although, Texas Tech did give up a lot of runs so maybe we can score on them.
