Compared to last year, Houston looks well-coached.

No doubt, but they're still one of the most undisciplined, poorly coached teams I've ever seen.

They're not road kill. Hard to believe they're 1-9 in the conference.

And I think that win was against UConn. 03-weeping

Yep, they are completely opposite to last year. Last year they had NCAA talent and zero coaching, and this year they probably have the least talented roster in the league but for the most part look to be relatively well coached.

We don't have a single Rivals 4* recruit. No way UH has the worst roster.

Virtually our entire roster is made up of players that had no home as of April of 2014. We don't have a single guy with "C" by his name. All our centers left or decommitted after Dickey was fired last season. We really don't even have a prototypical power forward---much less a center.

Houston is by a long long shot the most size deficient team in the AAC. There is a reason we have only won a single conference game---we are absolutely overmatched inside against any AAC team. The kids play hard, but you have to shoot lights out and protect the ball to have any chance of winning when you give up as much inside as we do. The coaching is fine, we will have a better point guard eligible next year and we not be this size deficient forever.

Congrats SMU. Hope you go far.

We were playing with 7 healthy scholarship players. And one of our starting bigs hurt his wrist and came off the bench. Proud we didn't quit after your spurt in the second half.

Biggest SMU crowd I have seen at Hofheinz since the Jon Koncak days.

Houston kept playing and definitely made it close down the stretch. I think that's the most 3's I've ever seen attempted in a college game. Got some good shooters too

Sampson is taking his lumps like Brown did his first year at SMU , waiting on his players. UH will be back in 2-3 years.

I had to admit the poor free throw shooting was surprising. Is that the norm for SMU?

No, we usually shoot about 70%. We were off last night. Nearly cost us, especially after UH heated up from 3

Then you must not watch a lot of basketball. This team is definitely not poorly coached. If our team wasn't coached up, SMU would have put us away by at least 20.

The offense is poor though. I can't wait until we get a few big men on the team that should give us a serious lift.

Is Nic Moore a senior? That little PG is definitely a Cougar killer. It seems like he can always pull out the needed shot to kill the other team's momentum.

If they're giving out 1000, there's no need to get there early.

Actually there was. It's actually a much better atmosphere and there were far more people there than it may appear, not that it's Cameron Indoor Stadium or anything like that. Maybe it was because they were playing a ranked team plus the later start time but there were many more than 1,000 people. I was shocked how many people were there when I was getting tickets.

This, they should have won last night. Maybe it was as much SMU having a let down not expecting a close game as UH playing them close but they were certainly a play or three away from making in a one possession game or even being in the lead in the last 30 seconds.

They took too many contested shots down the stretch and should have tried to use more of the shot clock to find better shots. Like I said, it was just a few plays that would have made the difference.

I would venture to guess I watch significantly more basketball than you. I'm guessing you've never stayed up for entire 24 hour Tip Off Marathon (let alone multiple years in a row).
