I'm kind of amazed some of those marks rank as high in the conference as they do - like 15-7 being tied for 2nd in the pole vault? Also, do we really have a 25-foot long jumper? That seems awfully good for a multi-event guy (unless he's Olympic caliber).

It was a typo. 23 feet.

The men's pole vault should be interesting. Chris Pillow is coming off an 18' 1" at Texas A&M last week, but he will have good competition against former Texas State standout Logan Cunningham as well as two-time NCAA champion Jason Colwick. Cunningham and Colwick are tied for #61 in the world with a best of 5.45 meters (17' 10½"). Cunningham did his at altitude (Reno), while Colwick cleared his at U.H.

Early results:
In the women's pole vault, Marielle Brisbois set two personal records (I think) on her way to a big victory with 4.10 meters (13' 5¼")!!! Alicia Janke was fourth with 3.70 meters (12' 1½") and Ayane Rosano finished sixth at 3.55 meters (11' 7¾"). McKenzie Johnson hasn't figured it out yet, and no-heighted again.
In the women's 3,000 meters, Cali Roper won in 9:48.75, running a controlled race. Eleanor Wardleworth was 3rd in 10:01.34, improving her mark from last Saturday's meet at Texas A&M.
Will Firth came from behind to win the men's 3,000 in 8:28.74.

Both Pillow and Colwick have cleared 5.42 meters (17' 9¼"). Bar now at 5.52 meters (18' 1½").
Pillow clears 18' 1½" to move to #31 in the world!!!!

In the women's mile, Elsa Racasan was third in 5:03.48 (running unattached) and Madi McClellan was fourth in 5:03.56.
In the men's mile, Will Firth (coming back quickly after winning the 3,000 meters) was fourth in 4:18.94, with freshman Brad Dohner in fifth in 4:20.13.
Incredibly enough, Firth is going to run the opening (1200 meters) leg of the Distance Medley Relay. I'm guessing he'll sleep well tonight.
