Pretty much your standard player interview, but good to hear one of our guys on JOX.

Maybe it would be better if he was not well spoken?

It's stupid. I'd take well spoken as a compliment. A lot of people sound like mouth breathing idiots when put behind a camera or mic

RE: Robert Brown interview on Matt & Scot Show
Well Spoken-- I meant it as a significant compliment to the young man. So often one hears athletes being interviewed and they dont sound like they have the educational background to be admitted to college. In the case of our players this year, I have been VERY impressed listening to them being interviewed after our games on the radio. They all sound like they actually belong in college. Hope this clarifies my point of view.

I get it. It's offensive to me. It's race-neutral language that implies preconceived notions of inferiority. We can agree to disagree.

Because it is rarely applied to white athletes.

RE: Robert Brown interview on Matt & Scot Show
I've noticed that Robert Brown is a great interview. He did a post-game interview with Crane a few weeks ago, and he demonstrated the ability to think on his feet (difficult for many on live radio) and toe the line between being too honest and too cliche. He didn't say too much and get himself into trouble, but he didn't dodge any questions either.

I guess I'm a racist too. My bad.

Nick Norton is well spoken too. So is Tosin , Tyler , and CJ. Those are the only guys on the team that Ive heard on the radio... All are impressive. Enough of this side show.

He's very athletic too. If he were white they'd say he "plays really smart."

I think if this term was "surprisingly well spoken" then it might be offensive.
