Not any personal vendetta but my friends don't have any interest.

Your friends don't like Morehead? What's wrong with your friends?

Haha that could possibly be longer than the newest conference rumor thread.

You know who loves Morehead? Deez Nuts. Morehead is Deez Nuts favorite

I've heard he's pushing for us to schedule Ball State and Oral Roberts, too.

Probalby not, but if JMU played App State and UVA....

I really believe Montana, NDSU, would move the needle. Today Liberty moves the needle as far as filling up BFS for several reasons, they bring a lot of there own fans, they just beat us, so we have a grudge, and the best reason, they have become good competition with all of our games coming down to the final minutes. I'm not so sure about Youngstown, its just no real connection. Though, I think EWU would bring some people to BFS. The picken's are getting slim as we have been left behind by our natural rivals.

Honestly, I'm riding the fence on whether to renew. I have four tickets and getting people to go to some of them can be a chore. I have no doubt, with better competition, It would be a non-issue.

If it were me I'd take my 85 year old dad to the W&M or RU game and tell the friends maybe next year. Don't know how many more chances you'll get with him on that.

Calling you on this one. VT wouldn't schedule us - it wasn't JMU's choice. It was also 2017 IIRC.

Point well taken. Though, he always says that he'll go when I've got tickets not being used. He really just wants to spend time together, right up until I mention a team he's never heard of, then the sports fan comes out. Ya got to love it.

VA Tech did offer JMU and Jeff Bourne turned it down. This was widely reported.

Shouldn't be too hard to find a link then, right? Either that or you're a liar who can't be trusted (regardless of how many friends here will claim otherwise).

A downright ugly Dukeman lie or a cute Alger/Bourne "JMU does not have a 1A conference invite" kind of lie?

Why have you decided to label me an admin apologist when there's little to no evidence to support that?

If I've misinterpreted the post, perhaps you could explain how it wasn't a jab at me.

Pretty sure only Deez and Nation fit that description now.

Hyper - If you are talking to me, I don't label you as an admin apologist. I rarely take jabs at individual posters, players or coaches.

I save my jabs for the highly paid administrative professionals at JMU that ask me for money but won't tell me what they are doing with it and in some cases, lie to me (not an ugly Dukeman kind of lie, the cute kind of lie, it's hard for me to tell the difference but I am sure other posters can and will).

Is that any I-A games, or only P5? How many showed up for Akron?
What I'm getting at is JMU will be going from now 1 P5 game most seasons to after the move up 2 (with the other 2 OOC most seasons being a I-AA and a G5).

Akron was way too far from Charlotte, so I was a no show. I make it to the UMD games because I stay with in-laws in Lynchburg, sort of halfway. What I'm saying is that logistics is the biggest deciding factor on whether people go to games. I did not miss the UNC games, the Duke game, or the Tech game, why? Logistics. I doubt that I'd go to see us play Northwestern for the same reason that I chose not to go to Akron. Logistics.

Liberty to the dislike of many LU fans, played D2 games in the past. With Gill as HC, and the announced decision to move FBS, those D2 games are gone. What better way to make an on-field statement than to play competition recognized as a step above your program. LU has past baggage/image issues known to everyone. What's different in the recent past is the clear focus now with HC-AD-Prez to play 2 FBS games, one money game (yes, an App St/Michigan, VT/JMU game can happen) and one competition game against SBC and C-USA teams.

Regarding the JMU-LU game Sept. 26 in Lynchburg, the single game attendance record will be broken. If you bring 2-3k, we'll expect to have 20k to 22k. 25,000 is a reasonable expectation, a new LU record.
