Public sector unions take two hits
On Monday, new Illinois governor issued an executive order

Quote:...ending mandatory union fees for state workers who don’t want to join a union or support its agenda. He declared that Illinois’s contracts with public unions, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (Afscme), violate the First Amendment by forcing workers to associate with the union against their will.
WSJ 2/11/15 Furthermore, he endorsed a "home rule" concept where some communities could become "right to work."

And last week, a federal judge ruled in the Stockton (CA) bankruptcy, that federal bankruptcy law supercedes state constitutional law that guarantees pensions. In effect, the bankruptcy court could cut pensions. (Although the judge ruled he had the power to cut the pensions, he accepted the Stockton re-organization plan that kept pensions intact.)

Both of these could very well be headed to SCOTUS.

Drip, drip. drip.
