Hopefully my final post on Pastner
I am not a blind Pastner loyalist. Like I said earlier in another thread, I could care less if he is fired tonight, the end of the season or never. He is NOT the horrible coach that many on this board are claiming. This was going to be a rebuilding season and most of us knew it, but yet somehow think.we should be a Sweet 16 this year!?!!

While I don't think it's necessarily wanting cal back.for.many of our fans, it's having to watch him achieve such high levels of success while we struggle.

I don't like what our program is going through this year... I DESPISE reading this absolute horse crap from some.of our "fans" that are walking away from.the program over this!?!! While I won't make an accusations on this thread as to the motivation of some.of these fans, if this is a representation of Tiger Nation, I succeed. I am glad it's not because I know plenty of fans that still go and support this team and the Tigers!!!
I LOVE seeing Tiger Blue on a regular basis. I drive a lot for my second job and meet plenty of new people in my area and I've never seen so much blue. Most that I talk with are nit in the majority of this board...

I bleed Tiger Blue!!! I won't abandon this team for any reason, ever!!!
Thought cal was an arrogant jerk, but supported the team. And would choke down my gag reflex if someone like Pearl was hired. Would even try to not to scream I told ya so when we face worse penalties than we did with cal....
Just don't understand why other lifelong Tiger fans don't feel the same.

It's not just this board. Look at the attendance and you will see most fans are done with CJP.

RE: Hopefully my final post on Pastner
Agreed that it is worse this year than years past, but our fans have been bad unless it's against a big team or we are highly ranked.

The upper bowl, at least where I sat was pretty full. The lower bowl, you can't get into to fill those seats. I've always hated (even when cal.was here) that those seats stayed empty because of the ticket Nazis at the FEF...

I made my suggestion to those fans that want go boycott to show their displeasure.... Don't renew next year, instead buy 5 or 10 football season tickets. It still supports the Tigers... even better, supports a proven winner that deserves it!!! And if they can't find people to fill those seats, I can!!!

RE: Hopefully my final post on Pastner
Look, we aren't winning at all this year.

We haven't won big in years.

And Pastner has the personality of an old sock.

If the guy was a PR artist like Kirk and Calipari, he wouldn't be in so deep. If he was funny and THE face of the program like Finch, he would be okay. If he had flirted with a national championship, he would be fine.

Pastner can't sell himself or the program to the public. I don't know why, but it is just the way it is. His personality alone can't sell the program. The only thing he can sell is winning. So when he isn't winning, he has nothing to sell. That's a big problem.

Either he finds some snake oil and a sales pitch, or he is gone. Winning isn't happening this year. Instead of apologizing or making excuses, he needs to get out even more and sell the program, himself, the kids, the school, and the dream. That's what Kirk and Cal did. And that's what the fans expect. When he doesn't do it, people lose respect for him.

You could not be more wrong. This is not about a sweet 16 or cal. This is simply about a coach that is not earning his fat paycheck. The Tigers have not kept up with other programs at our level. Coach pastner does not possess the hallmarks that you think of in other coaches in his pay grade.

Tell me what he is good at as a coach, and please do not say a recruiter? Doesn't motivate, terrible at X's and O's, average to below average recruiter outisde of this area, terrible public speaker cannot galvanize a fanbase, doesn't develop his players, has no system or identity in place after 6 years. What is he so good at that we should keep letting him collect almost 3M a year to be average at best?

He has now lost to East Carolina twice, they are terrible!!!

His only bargaining chip is that he graduates players and keeps them out of trouble. It doesn't hurt that he seems to be a good person. But that is it.

Exactly, so offer him a job in the athletic counseling office or he would be good at working with troubled youth in the city somewhere but he fails on all levels as a basketball coach.

He’s good at fielding a small team against good competition and getting our a$$e$ kicked. Easy money for those that bet.

Now with Austin out for a few games it wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t win another game.
