Lambuth Campus
Here's a recent article on the UofM Lambuth campus. Does anyone know the long range goals for this campus? Are other locations viable options for growth? TIA

They big plans for the Lambuth campus. You can see them on the most recent master plan for the university. Go to memphis.edu and search campus master plan. They have a pretty detailed timeline on what they plan to do with the campus from a facilities standpoint.

I know a guy from McKenzie whose son is attending the Lambuth campus and loves it. I hope the university does enough to bring those students "into the fold" with athletics. A bus on gamedays, homecoming events, etc.

Slow but steady growth. It will take more investment in the deteriated infrastructure over time to accomdate the growth that will come.

RE: Lambuth Campus
hope so...I had no idea that the below quote from the CA was true......

Not only did that make college seem impossible for his son, it also makes him a “first gen,” one of the 42 percent of freshmen at the University of Memphis from families where no one has ever earned a college degree.

Thanks y'all...will look up the master plan. I'm curious b/c Lambuth is hubby's alma mater. Also, the NY times facebook findings really surprised me. I was wondering if this expansion could be a factor in growing the West TN fanbase.

"In another important development, the Board of Regents also approved the University’s proposal to reduce tuition for out-of-state students, including a special reduction for students living within 250 miles of Memphis.

Under the new 250-R program, undergraduate students who graduated from a high school in the 250-mile radius will now pay $12,456 a year (plus mandatory fees), an almost $10,000 reduction from last year’s amount of $21,768."

Metropolitan areas located within the U of M’s proposed 250-mile zone include Little Rock, St. Louis, Birmingham, Ala., and Jackson, Miss.

The U of M, which graduates more than 4,000 students a year, enrolled 21,480 students in 2013-14. It has had record application numbers this spring, surpassing 10,000 for the first time in its history. As of last week, more than 10,500 students had applied for first-time admission in fall 2014.
