his show is funny, but 15 years is a long time to do something. Really don't see how anyone keep that going.

I find people who take serious offense to comedians to be the worst type of people. When me and the brownshirts come, expect a knock at your door first.

I enjoyed much of Stewarts stuff... Especially the stuff pointing out the hypocrites in both gangs.

He is a fckn comic. Those that found him offensive should either get a sense of humor or not watch. I personally cant stand Bill Maher. I dont watch him.

Never watched him except when they played excerpts of him on Fox.

Sad...I loved Jon Stewart because he makes conservatives so angry with simple facts.

Liberal lies. You really love someone you have no relationship with?

Mahers persona really bugs me too, yeah. Even when he has a point on specific issues, he still irks me to no end.

Those of you who missed Stewart missed one of the great political commentaries of your life. He was definitely liberal and had his political beliefs, but he had no issue pointing out dems that acted like idiots too. Some of the most compelling criticisms of Obama have come from Stewart, because they lack the hyperbole and spite that so many of his critics from the right had. It's hard not to tune that out.

That goes both ways. Yes, I agree people shouldn't take him so seriously. That being said, he and especially VIEWERS shouldn't take him seriously as a news source. Sadly, many people do.

Why shouldn't they? He's not a party puppet, and he doesn't at all hide his bias. It's not as if he had a history of fabricating or making intentionally misleading statements. And don't forget the studies which showed his viewers more educated in world events than Fox.

So, you're upset when people do take him seriously and criticize him and you're also upset when people don't take him seriously and just value him as a comedian. You need to pick a lane and stay in it. You're all over the road here.

He can have value as a comedian and also been taken seriously as a reporter of news. It's not as if comedy somehow negates facts you present or a position you take, it's just another route one can take to make political commentary. And again, none of that inherently means he cannot be taken seriously as a news sourse, meaning he reports accurately.

I don't take it as a news source, but he's ******* funny and he's been funny since he was on MTV. I can understand if you don't like him because he goes after "your" team. But for those of us in the middle, we enjoy it.

I can't stand Maher mainly because how he goes after religion. It just irks me in some way.

RE: Stewart Gone
I'm fine with that personally, lots of legitimate issues with religions across the board, but Maher does it so much it's clear he has a vendetta. And it sometimes makes him seem like a dick and I end up siding with the idiot guy who believes the earth is 6,000 years old despite thinking that's a stupid belief.
