Geno is also just a monster as a coach. He would have them ready to play. I'm not saying they would beat many D1 men's teams but I have no doubt they would beat some. Just around here, I think they could beat Central CT State and U of Hartford mens teams, to name two local D1 programs.

Ridiculous. Hartford has nine players 6'6" or higher UConn has one 6'5" and one 6'4". It would be a compete bloodbath. Hartford would have 20 blocked shots or more. This is just so absurd. Like when people claim Bama could beat the Jacksonville Jags.

I watched the UConn game, I am sorry but it's a joke.

It's not always about athletic ability. More athletic teams get beat all the time. Think the Spurs with 38 year old Tim Duncan, 37 year old Manu Ginobili, and 32 year old Tony Parker, out-athletic anyone. Yet somehow they won the championship by great ball movement, shooting, defense, fundamentals, etc.

Yes, most men's teams would be way more athletic, but UConn's women's team WOULD defeat lower rung low/mid major teams. And the notion that a decent HS team would beat them. Laughable. Maybe the top HS teams, but not run of the mill teams. UConn's women's team is really, really, really good.

A bloodpath against an above average high school team, bloodbath. I am terrible 5'9" bum and ran the starting point guard for a decent D1 team, out of the gym. Just cause they beat up on other women doesn't change the fact that its a physical nightmare. Kids on my crappy HS team regularly dunked, these girls would be crushed. You are way off on your analogy and this issue.

UConn should be commended but the game is so awful to watch. Even UConn makes some just joke plays every game. Just my opinion.

My cousin plays JV womens basketball. Every now and then they have "quad days" where JV women, JV men, Varsity women, and Varsity men all play on the same court back to back. It doesn't even look like the same sport.

I'm sure there are a handful of individual women who could play with the men and hold their own. There is no way a D1 women's team is going to beat a D1 men's team. They aren't fast or quick enough to get enough separation to get their shots off considering where their release point is.

I just watched ten minutes of this, its flat out awful. I commend those who find this entertaining but anyone who thinks a D1 men's team doesn't win by a min of 30 is out of their mind. It's almost comical.

I just think you're waaay underestimating how good UConn's women's team is. So they can't dunk (or only a couple of them can). So what. I bet they can shoot the ball better than most men. I bet if you put UConn's top shooters against average D1 men's benchwarmer player, UConn would shoot them out of the gym. It's not all about dunking. Geno would have them ready to play. They would move the ball crisply and get open shots. Would most teams beat them, sure. I never said they would dominate, only that they would compete and steal a win here and there against lower rung teams. You severely underestimate how good these girls are. They're the best this country has to offer. And by the way, so you played against an average D1 point guard. So what, UConn would have crushed the team that player was on by 80 also.

04-cheers

Those are really impressive numbers. This game absolutely crushed it in Hartford/New Haven. 12.5, I doubt we've had any men's games come close to that this year.

The tape doesn't lie. It's awful. They can't even jump and their shot is so low. It's worse than I remembered. Oh and the pace/speed is like slow motion.

Now watch the speed, jump shots, strength and athleticism of average high school Bball.

Yes, they (UConn) are the best and amazing at the women's game. It's great that TU women's Bball gets to share a conference with them, hope it lasts.

Tulane will be playing the U CONN ladies team in the next week and I am afraid of a 50 point blow out!

Women play with a smaller ball. Even if they could get a shot off against the men, their shooting percentages would drop because of the larger ball.

I am absolutely baffled people think the uconn womens team would beat any d1 team. They wouldn't have a game within 30 points.

Same result if UK played the 76ers.

Same result if ohio st played the maziels browns.

Which is where we are from if you ask people in Birmingham. We clearly own both Greenville markets.

My freshmen boys basketball team held our State Champions Girls Basketball Team to ONE basket in a scrimmage. We were only average.

Enough said.

I would love to see the Men's Kentucky team play the UCONN Women.

Oh my god...why? That would be terrible even by comedy standards. I still remember the Freshman B soccer team for our high school would always do late-practice scrimmages against our Varsity girls team and wipe the floor with them, a team that always included multiple college-bound soccer players. In college, we would occasionally do scrimmages against the women's side at UC and we would have passing limits before shots and couldn't possess the ball inside the 18 yard box, which soccer players will know as the most serious of playing restrictions, because their coach didn't want them to lose too much confidence. I can only imagine how much worse it would be in sports that are that much more reliant on pure athleticism. That might be a 60 point win if they played full 20's.

Maybe these nasty brutes should challenge a mens team and settle it.
I still say theyd get crushed by any mens D1 team. Those of you that think otherwise are either homers or morons.

It's like comparing men's tennis and women's tennis. It's the same game, played on two different levels.

Way off topic, but the constant crying by the female tennis players about equal payouts at the Grand Slam events really chaps my a$$!! If you want to make the same prize money as the men, then your a$$ better be out there playing best 3-out-of-5!! Not the best 2-out-of-3 garbage you're playing now!! Sadly Wimbledon caved to the ladies and are now paying them the same money for less work.
