Best cities for Football
Bowling Green KY comes in at 84th, hard to believe this was possible 10 years ago as BG mainly was a basketball town...Also first in Kentucky by a long stretch(Louisville 104th, Lexington 135th)..Discuss:

Huntington, WV coming in at #70. Huntington revolves around Marshall University and MU is known for their football program and the deep history behind it.

Ruston. At 65. But anyone who has New Orleans at 33 has never been to a Saints game.

Back when I could drive up on game day, park for free in a commuter lot, and watch a top 25 team play football, Hattiesburg was the best thing going for a football fan.

Hattiesburg is a great football town when we field a respectable team.

I was going to say this list is ridiculous, but it takes into account the NFL.

which in itself is just silly....

tulane vs the saints......really?

carolina vs 'name a few'

browns/bengals vs THEE

I don't understand the premise other than fingers are 'nimbly-bimbly from tree to tree'......

Huh? If you catch a game at the Alamo dome every knows you either do park and ride or book a hotel room walking distance away. If you are trying to park downtown you're an idiot.

Least friendly? I went to the Arizona game last year and everyone was sweet as hell to the visitors...it was actually quite sickening. Everyone gave me the stink eye when I was booing Arizona fans walking by.

Least engaged? The dome gets loud even with only 30K rocking the stands.

It's a shame we aren't as engaged as the 5,000 La Tech fans according to that article. Poor us.

If you actually read the methodology, you'd see this is not what you think. Stadium accessibility is determined by city population/stadium capacity. So large cities like San Antonio of course will have lower accessibility.

And Fan Friendliness/Engagement is based on (number of twitter followers + number of facebook likes) per capita. Nothing to do with fans engagement at the games or friendliness of fans.

I don't know what their criteria was for ranking the cities but if it has san jose california higher than el Paso then it has no credibility. We average more in losing seasons than they do in winning seasons. Bunch of hogwash if you ask me. So ask me.

RE: Best cities for Football
Birmingham used to be one of the most fertile grounds for football on all levels, today, it's become a battleground that's taken quite a few hard hits in recent years, with some of the wounds being self-inflicted, and if we don't do something to change this trend soon, we're going to become extinct as a sports town, let alone a football town.

I love Ruston @ 65. I would rate it higher for accessibility. Great place to watch a game.
