Early Signing Period for Football
Here is an article by Harry Minium on recruiting and the proposed early signing period. Personally, I think it is a great idea and overdue in being adopted. If a kid signs in December, it will get the coaches out of his hair and let him concentrate on his academics his last semester. For commits that don't sign, it gives the coaches a clear indication of just how weak his commitment is. All in all, it looks to me like a win-win for the recruits and the universities.

This proposed legislation was put on hold for another year of "study." I suppose there is concern that the SEC might lose some of it's ever-dwindling advantage. :sarcasm:
