The Flashes visit the JAR on Tuesday for showdown with the Zips that will be televised on Time Warner Sports Channel. Akron has won four of five and is tied with KSU, Bowling Green and Toledo with a conference record of 7-3.

The Zips don't put up huge offensive numbers, but they always seem to execute well as a team and they have a few different ways to hurt you. A couple of weeks ago it was Reggie McAdams going for 30+ vs. Central Michigan. Yesterday 6'7 wing Jake Kretzer came off the bench and led five players in double figures with 13 points.

Under the basket, the UA is getting production from 6'11 junior Pat Forsythe (10 points/5 rebounds), 6'9 sophomore Kwan Cheatham (8 points/4 rebounds) and 6'10 sophomore Isaiah "Big Frog" Johnson (4 points/3 rebounds).

Concern #1 is scoring. Akron has the length to guard the perimeter as well as anyone in the league. If shots are not falling, it could be rough treading for KSU's big men. A repeat of Buffalo is the nightmare scenario.

It would be nice to see KSU push the pace and test Akron's athleticism. There are chinks in the Zips armor. They shot under 60% from the line in their win last night. Here's to bringing it.

This game's on the TW Sports Channel? Does that mean it's going to be blacked out on ESPN 3 like they were last year? I certainly hope not seeing as the MAC now has a contract with ESPN...

I think we will bring a lot of intensity. UB is a different animal. We know our struggles up there - they have been documented. And this year we laid 12 eggs. But Akron is a rival we care more about, and one thing this team can do is play defense. IMO if there is one key to the game and one thing that frightens me, it's Lawrence. He gets going and with his motor he plays a little too aggressively, uses his hands and picks up cheap fouls. I think we need him to be able to stay on the court so we will have a little rotation. If he can stay in the game, I think it's anyones to win in the last 4-5 minutes.

For us to win this game, it will take our best game of the season. Akron has the ability to get on a hot streak shooting from the arc. This concerns me due to our ability to hit cold streaks from the arc. Akron will also play more players than us. They are deep. I am not throwing in the towel, just pointing out what could make it very difficult for us. Is Brewer available? We will need numbers.

Without Hall we lose a close one as we give back the advantage we got when Treadwell was told to take a hike. I would rather not think of what will happen without Brewer too.

I found the blackout map, this game will be blacked out in NE Ohio on ESPN3. It's pretty annoying that a channel only carried by one of the cable providers (and frankly, the worst one) can have exclusive rights to the games in this area.

Don't bother writing the commissioner. He apparently doesn't want to hear it since he doesn't list his e-mail address on the MAC web site. I complained to the MAC men's BB rep via e-mail about the cable and internet deals.... never heard back from him. So the beat goes on with the TV deals and we fans are the losers.

If we defend the 3 like we did against Central, we will be fine zits live and die with the 3.

Yes I saw that. Have these games been on all season and I just missed it. I rarely watch this station so maybe I just missed it.

Yes I saw that. Have these games been on all season and I just missed it. I rarely watch this station so maybe I just assumed they weren't on this year.
