He had a good life. I remember watching those "four corners" games before the shot clock. How strange that concept must sound to today's coaches and players. I like the shot clock, but wish they kept it at 45 seconds for college and 30 seconds for the pros. He did a lot for North Carolina, the school and the state. How old are Krezyzewski and Bobby Knight??

Krezyzewski is only 67

Bobby Knight is 74.

Billy Casper died at the same age too - also 83. RIP to both.

Little known fact: Dean Smith went 8-9 in his first season at UNC. Not 8-9 in the ACC, just 8-9 overall.

They played much shorter schedules in those days.
