This game is shaping up to be an epic battle. Some are using it as a proxy for the battle between the major conferences and the rest as the major conferences seek domination of all facets of college athletics.

Pundits are looking for the ratings of this game to exceed 90% of ESPN's 2014-2015 college basketball games carried on its networks, including men's games. It also will surpass tv viewership for any college basketball games carried on Fox Sports Network and CBS Sports Network. Not only is it a coming out party for the power conferences, it's also one for women's college basketball in general.

What if UConn wins? Is it still a coming out for the P5?

UConn has dealt with P5 programs for 20 years. There's always a new one that's going to smack down UConn ... then they get humiliated by Geno. Tennessee, Stanford, Notre Dame, and now South Carolina. It never ends.

I know it's just women's BB, but if they're going to play the games you might as well win.

UCSB lost by 6 to UConn in the Sweet 16 back in 2004. That was UConn's closet game during their championship run.

What's exciting is a women's program that brings in lots of money. The games are secondary.

This matchup reminds me of the Birmingham Bowl a few years ago where UConn blew out a South Carolina. The cocks didn't even cross midfield until two minutes left in the game.

UConn up 16 at the half. I think USC will make a run in the second half, but it won't be enough.

12.5 in Hartford is crazy but 3.4 in Knoxville is very impressive. I'm surprised it was so high in Dayton, Louisville, and Memphis.
