We throw the ball away so much trying to feed the post, the Lawsons will be able to see over the defense. If Austin stays, which I believe he will, we should be at the very least a sweet 16 next year. A lot of the teams in the AAC have several senior players this year we won't have to face next year. Just a thought.

Is one of them a point guard?

Don't worry, we've got one in training. He played a minute today. Looked good, apparently.

I used to spin stuff for a living, but the spin ain't comin'. Is there something that we just don't know about this situation?

I once picked up a piece of metal some friends had just been welding on (before I walked up) and, of course, dropped it immediately. One of 'em said, "Was it hot?" The other said, "No, it just don't take him long to look at a piece of metal."

I figure it's kinda like that. Pookie wasn't bad; it just doesn't take Josh long to evaluate a point guard.

lmao.

Don't know what your point is but Pookie ain't ready now and I seriously doubt he will be ready next year. Doesn't seem to have qualities a good PG must have.

I'm laughing at the welding story and still am. I have no judgment about PGs, except I would have preferred Pookie over Cunningham.

Edti: After seeing the games live in Vegas, I was actually more in the Kedren corner because of the way he commands the floor and has big guard moves.

College BB is a lot different than HS BB.

Unless you have personally seem them play, I don't think you should express an option in this thread.

I can't wait until this time next year when you are bashing them.

Can't

Wait
Yep I'll be bashing them if they don't hustle, try to play one on one to impress some NBA scouts and won't jump off the floor to grab a rebound or play defense. Remind me when I bash them for any other reason. No one can say they saw me bashing DJ Stephens, Anderson or any other player that's left it all on the floor every night. This would be a good place for another "heart blessing". I applaud effort not results. I criticize lack of effort not results. Won't make a cr@p to most everybody here anyway.

That is not hustling to say it politely. Josh's fault? And I've already said josh needs to go at end of season so don't bring that up like 2/3 of posters do when they don't know how to respond in basketball terms.

Lack of hustle cost us the game. pure and simple.

Josh does not demand certain efforts like out previous coach....not many do. The Lawson's have some problems with their handles but they are on another level. We will be good if AN is around next year.

Have you seen them in person? Dedric has NO problems with his handles for a 6'9" stretch 4. Better passer than anyone on team now and maybe 3-4 rotation players are better handlers.

I have watched them plenty of times....KJ will be great. Both will have a lot of turnovers but they are on another level from what we have now.

Agree. KJ is fearless. Don't care who the head coach is...no one can change that.
You can't teach it. You can't take it away.

we have all witnessed pastner neuter plenty of players. if he can't tame them, he sends them packing.

Now the narrative for next year is already that two inexperienced players will make a big difference?

The Lawson's are extremely talented and yet there is no evidence that supports Josh's ability to improve those talents. Thankfully their dad may have a hand in helping them.

Playing basketball at Memphis on scholarship is a privilege not a right. When a player does not give his full effort and attention, I will call him on it. One of major problems now is they take playing here for granted.

It's quickly getting to be less of a privilege.

Maybe to fair weather fans like you! It's my opinion that there are multiple SEC and other trolls posting under more than one user name and always putting down program. I think we should do a security check on members of this forum if someone knows how we could go about it.

It is so aggravating to deal with these a holes.

Fair weather fan? SEC troll? A holes? Why, just because he/she thinks Pastners not getting the job done (many Tiger fans feel the same way). And maybe he/she wants what's better for our program than what Pastners giving us as our head coach. This is year 6, how much damn time does he need before he figures it out. And no, it's not just about this year. So you can stop with the fair weather, SEC troll crap. A holes, hmm, really?

Maybe Detric will be what Kuran was supposed to be and KJ will be what Nick King was supposed to be (I still like Nick but I've finally accepted the fact that he is not a 3) and Broodie will be what Pookie was supposed to be and Kedren will become what Kedren used to be. Maybe next year we will have the year we were supposed to have this year.
