Anyone know if he could possibly graduate in 3 years?

I hope he is on track to graduate early and can transfer. I hate to see him waste his time here.

I was pissed when Tarik left, but now I realize he did the best thing for himself.

FYI talked to Tarik's stepdad at the game today. The only reason he was cut by the Rockets was because he didn't have a guarenteed contract. They really wanted to cut Joey but it was a money deal. Go tell all your ex player buddies that.

It's a bummer, both are NBA quality players and should have no issue getting checks and minutes off NBA benches.

It's all good. Tarik started for the Lakers the other night. He actually got screwed by the Lakers picking him up. Five other teams wanted him but when you get claimed you are stuck with the same salary

Good grief. What a question to ask....why assume he is "wasting" his time at Memphis? As if he went somewhere else all would be right with the world. This young man is doing fine right where he is. Why wish him somewhere else?

Some of these "fans" who wish Tigers to transfer are really not fans at all. Austin transferring could not possibly do anything but hurt the Tigers. What true Tiger fans wants to see anything happen to facilitate that? If Austin believes he would be better off somewhere else that would be his choice and we should wish him well but to wish it would happen? He can make the NBA here just like he could somewhere else. His talent/potential is going to carry him. If he transfers to another school he'll have to sit out a year which would not help Austin. Will Barton is playing and came from a so-so team.

Wasn't the other school he was strongly considering UTK? So, I'm not too sure how unhappy he or his family are with him being here vs. there. Let's see...

Just some of the pros for playing at Memphis:
1. Can be the standout star of the team and
2. Get noticed by NBA scouts.
3. Hometown hero.
4. Parents/friends/family in town can easily watch all your home games.
