Game changes at 11 minute mark of 1st half when Temple ended half with only 2 baskets but shot 17 FT attempts to cut lead to 10 at half.

Exactly-refs KEPT them in game. could have been 20 plus in that first half.

To put it in better perspective. Temple shot almost as many FT in that one 11 minute period as the Tigers did for ENTIRE GAME

Several reasons:

Memphis players picked up silly stupid fouls (non-shooting fouls) in the first segment of the 2nd half...which later added another trip or two for Temple in the bonus and even double bonus to earn more trips to the line.

Also, Temple wasn't chucking up 3's...they were driving inside where most shooting fouls are called...and Temple took advantage of a 'hot' day at the FT line (Temple shot 75% on 20 FT's in the first half...while in conf play, they normally shoot around 63% from the line. Memphis shot just 50% from the FT line in the 1st half)

In the 2nd half, Temple obviously went stone-cold from the line (just 5-12, 41%), which helped keep the game very close till the end as Memphis turned it up on their end, shooting 80% from the line in the closing half.

Temple ended up with 62.5% for the game from the line while Memphis shot 66.7%.

Both teams shot only 21% from 3 pt range for the game.

Do you know just how STUPID you sound trying to make such claims without the stats to support your position?

Temple took 14 shots from beyond the arch. That is NOT counting the two they took and were fouled since missed shots which result in a foul are not considered an official shot. Which would have placed them at 16 shots from the arch. The Tigers took 19. THREE MORE SHOTS than Temple from beyond the arch. Which the Tigers hit one more 3. So much for the jacking up threes claim.

Tigers actually had MORE points in the paint that Temple 30-28. Once again the stats do not support your claims. So that does not justify the differential in FT attempts. Some of our fouls were stupid yes. But there were just as many shots by Tigers which should have been called that were not. IE: Johnson's shot to take the lead CLEARLY should have an and one. While on previous end Cummins faded away to get shot over Godfrey and foul was called.

Keep trying to rationalize things to push a certain agenda. But pull your head out of the sand and your ass and be man enough to admit the real truth when it hits you in your face. This is the same way things turned out a last year when the Griz got 50 points in the paint and shot 1 FT for the game while Atlanta took 20 shots from beyond the arch compared to only 12 by the Griz and shot 15 FTs. And the one FT the Griz shot was for defensive 3 seconds.

13:05 mark to end of first half only TWO BASKETS but 20 FTs attempts, while only having 8 paint points. 1 more point off turnovers than Tigers. ZERO 2nd chance points, and FEWER fast break points. Temple shot 20 FTs. Which is more than Tigers shot for ENTIRE GAME. Tigers had only 8 FT attempts while having 22 paint points. Including 6 2nd chance points. The JUMP SHOOTING TEAM had a 20 to 8 advantage at the FT line over the paint team.

Nothing against Memphis, but I still await the day a team says we beat them, rather than the refs did. It's really funny, because we absolutely never get calls, especially at home. If you want to ignore the clear and 1 by Jaylen Bond when the game was tied at 56, go ahead. Just think it's pretty sour grapes to say the only reason we won is because of the refs.

If ncrdbl1 lives his life like he does as a Tiger fan, I can't imagine how many "other people's fault" have led to bad happenings in his life.

It wasn't the refs at all.

Exactly! It was a seasoned.....veteran coach.....avoiding the panic button. ....keeping his troops calm....them believing in the plan.....and he "the coach" having his troops execute effectively based on the style of play and what the refs were calling. Attack the paint with ferocity....giving up your body, making sure to draw contact.

It is up to our coach & staff to be proactive.....recognize this trend.....avoided make necessary adjustments to put our troops in position to avoid the collapse!

Yesterday is a perfect example of the level of talent that is, as well as has been here......only to be thwarted by an incapable leader in Josh.......that's why we have been upset. .....as Josh makes multiple excuses for ineptness.......there are a few of us that see through the smoke......this team has always been capable of winning BIG/important games because of talent.....Josh doesn't have the skills to get them to an elite level.....

1) Temple took just 4 three pt shots in the 1st half (hence the comment on the 1st half FT attempts, i.e. 20).

2) While Temple didn't get credit for "points in the paint", Temple players got fouled going into or in the lane...which lead to even more FT attempts (and some pts).

Don't look at final game stats without knowing what took place during the game (time and place of pts, shots, fouls, FT attempts, etc...)

We lost the last one on a last second shot with Austin not playing in second half. I think we can win.

We can gameplan knowing we are without Austin, so I think we have a good shot.
