Marshall wins again. Starts the season 2-0.

Marshall will play Bethune Cookman and UMass-Lowell tomorrow and then UNC Greensboro on Sunday to wrap up the Charleston Challenge. I really like this team. Shonda Stanton does a great job with the softball program.

Stanton is our 2nd tenured coach at Marshall, shes been head of the softball program now for 16 years. Only Bob Gray the head coach of the mens soccer has been HC longer.

We used to have a great softball orogram. Went to the World Series twice and finished 4th one year. We had a great pitcher named Courtney Blades. Best softball pitcher I have ever seen in person.

FIU is 2-1 facing #3 Alabama today. I guess, we'll be very likely 2-2 soon.

Charlotte hosts Gardner-Webb today at 1:00 for their season opener.

UTSA beat Montana and Texas Tech to start off the season at 2-0.

Conference USA Softball is very strong

End of the 5th vs UMass-Lowell. Jordan Dixon has struck out 11 in a row. Marshall leads 1-0.

Southern Miss split on Saturday, losing to McNeese 2-0 and beating Lamar 5-2.

Marshall 10-4 over Army
Marshall 3-1 over College of Charleston
Marshall 2-1 over Bethune Cookman
Marshall 3-0 over UMASS-Lowell
Marshall 8-0 over UNCG (Mercy Rule, 5 innings)

Jordan Dixon strikes out 42 during the 5 games. And strikes out 11 in a row. If she isn't the player and pitcher of the week then something is wrong.

looks like it is going to be a great year for CUSA Softball. Going to be some fun games this year.

UTEP Softball es no bueno. They've started the season 0-5, losing every game of a tournament hosted by Arizona St. What sucks, the Miners don't have a home series until C-USA play starts on March 7. AD Bob Stull must have had a hand in their scheduling too.
