IRS lost all their credibility when they targeted conservative organizations. Biggest extortion outfit in the history of the USA.

You apparently aren't aware of the fact that more progressive groups were delayed / denied than Tea party groups. FWIW, all of the PACS organized as charitable organizations should have been denied. They were actively involved in politics which violates the standards for tax exempt status.

Uh huh. Well, the track record of Lois Lerner suggests a lifelong antipathy against conservatives at all levels. This was a partisan person who NEVER should have been in that position. She abused it going after predominantly conservative organizations and she needs to spend some time in prison for her crimes.

Back to topic.

Hiring known tax cheats let alone for the IRS.

The IRS has been on thin ice for awhile. Regardless of ox they are goring this alone shouldn't be allowed to even remotely happen.

Coupled with the intentional avoidance of providing Lerner's emails ... again regardless of who's ox ... none of it washes and these folk have real power.

Abe and George's spinning make Iran's centrifuges look like they are stuck in neutral.

Congress should chit-can the whole outfit and introduce a national sales tax to replace the income tax. No reason for Washington DC to know what an individuals income is. None whatsoever.

Going to leave business and corps out of it? Gonna need a huge sales tax to do that, like 25% or so? Maybe more. Or do a flat tax on business.

Businesses don't pay taxes now, they just pass the cost on to consumers. As it is currently, almost 50% of Americans pay no income tax-they have no skin in the game. What incentive do they have to vote for reduced government spending? None whatsoever.

A national sales tax or a flat income tax that everyone pays equally. Either or. The progressive system sucks and breeds cheating and invective. The IRS could be reduced by 90% staffing, either way. Give them productive jobs to do, like cleaning national parks, monuments and cemetaries.
