RE: AAC Sending 13 to NFL Combine
Wow Greenbery didn't get an invite?
Maybe someone will drop out or he will have to have one hell of a pro day.
He has been slated anywhere from 3rd Round to Free Agent.

Surprised Terrance Plummer isn't on that list. Or Torrian Wilson. JJ Worton might have had an invite if he didn't tear his leg up

Haven't done a hard count but a cursory glance looks like AAC leads G5 in combine invites

Laughable that after their careers, players like Greenberry, Luc, Lefeld, and Plummer aren't getting invites.

It is nice to see Rannell Hall get an invite. He had a pretty mediocre senior season hampered by injuries. I'm sure his performance the week of the Senior Bowl helped him secure a spot at the combine.

In comparison, Florida State is sending 12. So the AAC beats them out by 1.

RE: AAC Sending 13 to NFL Combine
Just curious, how does the Navy guy work it out? They sign on for service after graduation, so I was just curious. Hope it works out for him.
Another thing, I think the Navy QB could be a Heisman contender next year, so how would that work out for him?

I think the all star games will have helped them all but I'm not too worried about guys like Luc and Plummer. The combine has become more of a tv event for skill players.

More players go to the combine than get drafted. Not getting invited to the combine is very hard to overcome.

I know UCF has had several players drafted based off their pro day bc they didn't get combine invtes. In some cases the combine can put one over the edge but then again Tom Brady had one of the worst combines ever.

They have to serve for at least five years as a form of payment to the years in USNA. After that, he can go pro on football.
There is the particular case of Eric Kettani: Navy agreed to let him play in the NFL after 2 years of active duty, but he would have to do public affairs and recruiting work for seven years. He received some rage emails telling him to go back to the military.
About Keenan and the Heisman, I don't know. I would like to see him throwing more, because he already proved he can run. Navy game style could be the problem in this case.
Well, I know that USNA should only care with creating the future leaders of the nation, but grads playing in the big leagues could have solid impact on exposure. Anyway, this isn't something to worry about.

Wasn't David Robinson allowed to play in the NBA upon graduation?
Edit: I see he was drafted in 1987 upon graduation and was commissioned in the Navy Reserves due to his height. He served 2 years active duty before going to the NBA in 1989.

RE: AAC Sending 13 to NFL Combine
David Robinson also only had to serve 2 years active and served the rest in the reserves, I think because his height would have made it difficult for him to serve at sea. Robinson was at the Navy height limit of 6'6" when he was a senior in high school but grew 2 inches that year, and another 4 before finishing his career at Navy.
edit - I see your edit beat my response, lol.

It's that, and the size requirements that makes having a successful service academy program extremely difficult.
