Watching Belmont bite the dust…by double digits.

Eastern Kentucky probably had more dunks that Belmont had 3 point shots. Belmont shot 60% from the field and still lost. EKU totally dominated the bruins in the paint and forced numerous turnovers

I never had any problems with Belmont. One of the better coaches in the country in my opinion, smart students and a good school. I just am glad they are not in our conference anymore.

But, not being in the same conference with Belmont has not helped ETSU basketball. Seems that whatever conference Bartow's teams are in -- he's always chasing the better teams in that conference. It was usually Belmont in the A-Sun, now Wofford in the revamped SoCon. It looks as if wherever he is, his teams play DOWN to the middle of the pack of that league. It looks as if he could be coaching in a junior college league, a high school league and getting the same result. Wallowing around in the middle seems to be his resume. Does the ETSU administration want better from its basketball program? Can a mid-major state school get and keep a coach that can beat these private, speciality type, unique circumstances mid-major teams? What's ETSU to do?

Does anyone know the players' view of Bartow? I don't pick up a vibe either way, whether it be watching the interaction on the floor or through social media. I DO get the impression that they seem to like Coach Slay. Part of that could be that he's younger and all, but I'd love to have the inside scoop.
