@UCHoopsManagers: Had an interesting start to shoot-around earlier, the visiting side goal measured 9'9"...

Cheater Brown just wanted to make it easier to dunk.

RE: Are you serious, SMU?
Yes, we love to play on non standard goals in order to mess our shot up when we shoot at the other end or go on the road 01-wingedeagle

The tweet has since been taken down. I think a more likely explanation is that UCHoopsManagers don't know how to use a tape measurer or are using one from Dollar General.

Really a shame they would tweet something like that, even if they were joking. Someone from UC got onto them, because they took it down.

Probably a little gamesmanship for shoot around until they raise the hoops for the actually game (after UC had ran shoot around on a 3 inch short hoop)

someone trying to piggyback on the whole patriots things but that's different because their balls are only used by their offense. smu gets 2 quarters on that rim too, so it doesn't make sense to look for some conspiracy.

RE: Are you serious, SMU?
This very topic was brought up in a recent national telecast (can't remember if it was a college or pro game), where the analyst was joking about how some home teams would mess with visiting teams during shoot arounds/practice by lowering/raising rims.

Sadly, now its in Cinci player's heads for tonight's game and that can't be good for them.

I hope our students chant "Nine-Foot-Nine" the entire time Cincy is on offense.

That's like OU chanting boomer sooner. Why would you want to be synonymous with cheating?

Me too! While I do not think it is that big of a deal, I think it is a horrible look for a school that has the NCAA sniffing around.

Prove we cheated. It's far more likely that the rim height was altered for another event and someone forgot to set it back.

But 9'9" is in Cincy's heads now...and our students should take advantage.

Our golf program is going to get destroyed by the NCAA. Not sure what hoops did or didn't do but our golf program committed huge major violations.
