There is still some pretty good uncommitted kids from Mo. Hopefully Mike U. is trying to sway some kids he recruited for NC St. that are still out there. We do not have a lot of slots left, so we really need a couple of studs. Here's hoping!

Hutchins is no longer a BG commit and I think he is planning an official to NIU this weekend. He has offers from about 10 FCS schools and Ball State in addition to BG and is from the same school as Sutton Smith. I think Kane recruited Smith before leaving to Kansas so I'm guessing he is familiar with Hutchins. Seems like NIU would be a good landing place for him if an offer is out.

I have just confirmed he has an NIU offer.

RE: 2016 Recruiting Thread
We, or at least I, am in need of some recruiting possibilities in Missouri. There are quite a few uncommitted players out there. Another Darion, S Darion Tyler, who is not committed yet, is 3* 5.5 rivals rated 6'3"' 195 lbs. 4.6 40 yd. He has offers from Kansas, New Mexico, and Wyoming. His recruiter at Kansas?, Kevin Kane! Ya' never know.. Others of interest from Mo: Al Young ATH, 6' 170 lbs. 3* 5.6 RR rating, 4.55 40 yd. His only other offer is SE Mo. St. He is rated #16 in Mo. and is right behind #15 Dan Isom, an NIU signee. 2 other ATH, are Adam Cofield 5'11" 205 lbs. 4.7 40 yd. His only other offers are ND St. and Mo. St. and Terrance Sanders 5'11" 168 lbs. 4.34 40 yd. Finally a tall WR, Cameron Nisbet 6'4" 190 lbs. 4.6 40 yd. All 3 have speed and are rated 5.4 by rivals. Sanders and Nisbet have no current offers. Sorry for the length, but a slow day, so...

I understand losing recruits to P5 teams but if he does switch, it hurts that we lose one to another MAC team considering we have been the best team in the MAC for the last decade.

My understanding is he is scheduled to visit us this weekend. Hopefully Carey can close the deal.

yes he is scheduled to visit this weekend, just strange he would take down his commitment status unless he had de-comitted and is opening it back up. we'll see what happens. hopefully its not -5 degrees this weekend w 50 mph winds in dekalb haha

I'll take this recruit as a consolation prize of we don't get Pearson:

Erik Swenson (from Downers North), just decommitted from Michigan. There is no reason for him not to come to NIU (sarcasm) He's been committed since his sophomore or junior year. Rivals seems to think it was Michigans decision.

Definitely sounds like a Michigan decision. Close to signing day for him and a lot of classes are probably full. Looks like he had an Alabama offer at one point, that's not a bad fall back.

He's from Downers South, pretty close to where I live. Would be a major pickup if we could get him and would swing momentum in this recruiting class.

I think the key word is was, although I hope he's still willing to visit because it could make all the difference. I do fear that PJ has used some form of Jedi mind trick on him......."these are not the [football players] you are looking for."

Take a look at this kid, Anthony Catalano. He played for the national powerhouse Corona Centennial here in Southern California. Nobody seems to be giving the kid much attention. He's only 5'9" and 175 but has amazing skills and plays at the highest level of High School football. Corona Centennial was ranked number 1 in the country all year. Corona Centennial mascot is also the Huskies. Please take a look.

Looks like the recruits are coming in today, wonder if the coaches are taking them to the bball game late this afternoon? Can someone who is going to the game report if they are there?

Having a good atmosphere at basketball games on a recruiting weekend is another plus to having a good team/crowd.

RB Kentrail Moran can't through admissions at Illinois so he is looking elsewhere...NIU offered earlier in the process and he plans to visit EMU at some point. I'm not sure if NIU will get involved (or if he'll make it through anywhere), but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Going from Illinois to EMU is pretty much a lateral move when it comes to winning
