Actually, Obama asked for authority to intervene in Syria.....IIRC, the GOP shot that down.

'Jus sayin.

Yes, didn't Obama want to support the rebel side. Isn't that ISIS?

Don't go interjecting facts into a talking point now.

No, he wanted to support the Moderates before ISIS took over. Assad was finished as a leader in Syria. He's still finished. We didn't start the Arab spring, the people there did.

Now that ship has sailed. Its now Assad (who can't stabilize Syria and will simply create more ISIS support), ISIS, or the Kurds. The US is doing what it should, which is to provide support to the Kurds. But support of the Kurds causes other problems if they overreach. But for right now, that's what we're left with.

That's a complicated question. He never wanted to support the same factions that later joined with ISIS, but the Qataris did. The Saudis wanted to support Salafists opposed to those supported by Qatar, and they wanted the US to join them. There was arguably a time where the US could've thrown in support that would've had the effect of making the Syrian Free Army strong enough that ISIS never would've emerged as a threat. Most people here were unified in opposing that level of involvement. As it is, Assad has basically concentrated on the moderate forces in order to make the West choose between himself and ISIS.

Assad is not finished. Syria is finished, but Assad is not. Iran and Hezbollah will not allow him to fall, even if the country never functions again as the nation that existed before the Arab Spring.

I don't think I'm disagreeing with you. Assad as the leader of a Syria not in a civil war is finished.

Um, well, uh, look over there-->

That's almost as badass as reading books to kindergartners during 9/11 and hiding in a bunker directly afterwards.

True, but not as badass as openly criticizing Christians for their actions centuries ago, while failing to recognize the religion of his father as the group committing atrocities in current times.

That's idiotic.

If a "Christian" shouts "An eye for an eye" and kills an abortion doctor, that doesn't mean Christianity committed an atrocity. It means he perverted his religion on purpose to justify his actions.

You just look like sorta foolish when you conveniently ignore the fact that America and Congress doesn't want to authorize Obama to start a war over there even if he wanted to. So you obfuscate reality in making your comment.

Obama has addressed this ad naseum, that he doesn't feel these people are true Muslims. And Muslim leaders keep telling you this as well.

It is obvious that you completely consumed the Kool Aid. You don't understand the true Islam, but you continue to give your dear leader a pass on it.

Again, he calls out Christian violence from centuries ago, but doesn't admit that the people committing mass murder today are Muslim.

Because in his mind, and the minds of other intelligent folk, they aren't. Nothing in Islam condones or instructs what ISIS is doing no matter how much your con media tells you it does.

We have contributed greatly to ISIS. They get shipments of food from us, they get weapons from us, and they got most of their weapons because of our work in Libya.

The American government isn't capable of telling one rebel group from another and keeping weapons and aid in the hands of just our friends; they never have and they never will.

Jordanian F-16's can pack a good ordinance load. So far they seem to taking it to al-Raqqa.

Jordan flies upgraded F-16's originally belonging to NATO Air forces (mainly RNLAF). They are upgraded to Block 20.

Their F-16's aren't as advanced as the UAE F-16's (no precision strike capability) but if Jordan wants to level al-Raqqua, its good enough.

Now if Obama would move some CSAR assets into Kurdistan, maybe other Middle East Nations would join the party.

So ISIS isn't a muslim group that is attempting to set up a Caliphate?

Jordan's military is capable. It's also getting help from the US so that helps. I read that the US provided Jordanian pilots targeting options during the recent upkick in Jordanian bombinss. US pilots would have previously flown those missions.

They're reporting today that one of Jordan's air strikes killed a U.S. female hostage. I could easily see ISIS killing the woman (who hasn't been identified yet) independently and blaming it on an air strike.

And we would believe ISIS press releases because?

Her name was announced on the ISIS Today's feed.

But let's just assume she wasn't dead already (again, how long had the Jordanian pilot been dead?), you have to believe she was put in harms way by ISIS themselves.

Sorry, but I'm not buying the ISIS claim on this one.

4th American to die while in ISIS custody. Despicable...

Unfortunely, shes was probably killed shortly after her capture in August. Don't believe any of ISIS press releases.

Oh to be younger and back in great physical condition. I'd like to spend a week at this place...

"In 2002 King Abdullah II of Jordan, with the support of the Jordanian government and the United States of America, began drafting a plan to develop the King Abdullah Special Operations Training Center, KASOTC.

His Majesty’s vision was to create an international center of excellence that provides up-to-date training in counter-terrorism, special operations and irregular warfare tactics, techniques and procedures.

On May 19, 2009, King Abdullah II officially established and opened KASOTC’s doors to elite military and law enforcement units from Jordan and around the world."
