Football Season Tickets
Just got an email asking me to renew our football season tickets...wow earlier and earlier. Perhaps they should just put a box with "Which season renewal would you like. 2015, 2016, 2016".

Makes some sense getting an email today.

Schedule just confirmed and national signing day means that interest is potentially pretty high, despite the season being 6 months away.

Is this a price increase for the best sections? I also note the annoying basketball game parking fees will be applied for football, unless you are an Owl Club donor. It seems especially brave to raise ticket prices when oil is less than $50 a barrel.

Wonder how much Rice would make on "the float" ? Is it significant or no ?

Or all of the above?

Let's not give them anymore "Unconventional" ideas.

Is it weird that I like the addition of a parking fee?

Don't get me wrong, I would rather save my $5, but it always seemed a bit Busch League to not charge for parking. I can't think of another stadium that let's you park right next to it for free, and honestly, we already hemorrhage money, so we may as well try to recoup at least the cost of the parking attendants.

Not sure that this phrase is related to the cheap beer from St. Louis but I do appreciate the Freudian slip.

+1. I would pay for a "premium" tailgate spot too...

Well last year we only had 5 home games, but I don't remember there being so many different prices for the lower level.

Glad someone else likes it. In my mind, spelling it like Busch Beer, one of, if not THE worst crappy cheap beers, helps to drive home the point of how awful doing operating in that manner can be.

I agree about charging $5 for parking also, as long as it doesn't go up anytime soon. It's a reasonable charge for parking under an old oak tree, drinking beer, and playing catch with my son an hour before the game. It doesn't get any better than that.

I may order the GA season ticket package. Those seats are great and I'd probably save money in the end.

Someone tell me about the stadium club. Is it located inside the press box itself? I would think the R room would be a much cooler hangout.

I don't know about the Stadium Club. Are you talking temperature cool for the R Room? It is that - especially for those day time games! And a cold beer is especially good at halftime in the R Room.

Sight lines are great, but the drawback is no game sound. Does anyone know why the stadium audio is not played within the R Room?

"Cooler" as in more fun and with more space, but I bet the temp is nice as well. That's no good that they don't, at least, have the radio broadcast on while people hang out. They need to find out how to pump some "gameday atmosphere" into the place

They don't want people to watch from the "R" Room. They want them in the stands. That's what I've been told.

Maybe I could take a portable radio into the Owl Club room but it still would not be the same game experience as being in the stands. Also, the TVs in there show other games but not the Rice game. The Roost seemed to be the place with the most game excitement in the stadium even though they are further from the action than anywhere else in the stadium. I usually use the Owl Club room around halftime since I really do not pay that much attention to what the MOB is doing anymore since the speakers are so bad that I do not even know what the show is about.

The stadium club is in the press box. Not very big - two rows of theater-style seats with some standing room behind them. Very narrow space. Two sections on the lower level, one on each side of media/press/coaches booths. Each seats maybe 30. Food selection is more limited than the R Room, but better quality. Same basic beverage selection, don't recall if mixed drinks are served. Several TVs showing other games.

If you go up there, you'll know why the press box will never be ADA compliant.

Yes they are, which comes in handy when things aren't going well.

Access is nice, but not so comfortable that I don't come back down at kick-off and after halftime to watch the game.

That's good. Tear it down. Invest in The Roost. Fans really should be in the stands, unless their girly or elderly. They should blow up the R room during halftime festivities next year. Not really.
