Pastner has gone 143-52 in his six seasons at Memphis (a winning percentage of .733), and with five more wins will move into a three-way tie for ninth on the list with Michigan State's Tom Izzo and Ohio State's Thad Matta.

Awesome, so Josh will tie Izzo (Sweet Sixteen Third Year, Final Four Fourth Year, NCAA Champion Fifth Year, Final Four Six Year) and Thad Matta (Elite Eight Fourth Year, NCAA Runner-Up Seventh Year (Sixth Year of Opportunity if you exclude one year of ineligibility by OSU)).

Unfortunately, Josh's teams never parlayed that regular season success into NCAA tournament results. Maybe next year......

Not a lot fo Rice's, UCF's and Jacksonville State's in the postseason is there??? Look at the makeup of the 143 and then at the 52, that's the story

If he is such a rare and valuable stone, there would be much more appreciation (not talking about blue shaded fans, but from indsutry and the free market).

Chris Lowery from SIU had 78 wins after three years, including three NCAA appearances and a S16. (Josh, after three years, had 75 wins with two NCAA appearances and two 1st round exits.)

The boosters then rewarded Chris with a fat new long term contract.

Lowery then proceeded to fall into mediocrity, going 46-48 in the next three season with one NIT birth. The boosters and admin were hesitant to pull the trigger and fire him because of the buyout and the fact he had done so well the first three seasons.

Year 7 he went 13-19 and year 8 he went 8-23 and was finally let go.

Today should be about the Tigers and Coach Fuente landing a great group of new recruits. If you're heading down to the game, swing by and welcome the new guys. It's time for the "just basketball" folks to cross on over.

Certainly respect your opinion. Personally, though, I see no evidence that that's even possible and definitely not here as you pointed out.

So what? The man never has to work another day in his life after he leaves here if he doesn't want to. The irony of it all is that he will probably end up hosing us more than Calipari ever did.

True.

If these numbers are true:
Cal
01-$550K
02-$1M
03-$1M
04-$1.15M
05-$1.15M
06-$1.15M
07-$1.3M
08-$1.816M
09-$2.35M

Josh
10-$880K
11-$880K
12-$1.7M
13-$1.7M
14-$2.65M
15-$2.65M

he's already within about $1M of raking in what Cal did his entire time here, less incentives. When you add the buyout, it won't even be close.

So, if your numbers are correct, we paid Calipari about $4million before he won his first NCAA game. Interesting.

Yeah, and if your analogy is correct, we're about to go on the winningest run in college basketball history.
