So looking at that list, what do you guys think? Who are your impact players?
I like Tony Balabani. Really strong and athletic. Great motor. Tenacious. Wraps guys up and is a sure tackler.
Jon Wassink looks like a pure athlete. That dude does it all. Multi-sport and multi-position. He will compete for the starting QB spot down the road.
Anton Curtis is tall, lanky and fast. I can see him bulking up to become another Corey Davis type player.
Can't say enough about Alex Grace. All-state player, broke multiple records, POTY. Very fast for his size and he just has a knack for the game.
Davon Tucker looks really impressive on film. Very similar running style to Jarvion Franklin, just slightly smaller but also looks like he could be quicker.
Kadeem Goulbourne held a ton of offers and has impressive size. You have to think he'll see the field soon.
Justin Tranquill is a STEAL for us. He's the real deal.
Levante Bellamy is straight-up fast. Dude can fly. Between him, Tranquill, Grace, Tucker, Sam Beal, Justin Spencer and more...this has to be the fastest class we've ever seen.
Kenny Finley also comes in this year, and looks like a stud on the D-line. Great size.
It's hard to not mention guys, because they all look so good...French, Keenoy, Juriga, Underwood, Horton, etc etc....this class looks REAL good

I think patience is going to be a key word for some of these guys. You look at a guy like Davonte Ginwright, and he has the kind of frame that you like at safety. He needs to add muscle though. There are some guys that need to add size in this group, and some raw talents that could use some development time (Alex Grace, Sam Beal, and Giovanni Ricci).
Parker Underwood has the kind of size and nastiness that he could see the field right away.
Ken Finley is definitely a guy that will see time.
Justin Spencer and Justin Tranquill seem to be guys that could play as freshmen a bit.
Keenoy could start, however, I would love to see him and all lineman redshirt.
I think Curtis is an electric athlete. Would be great to get him a redshirt year to learn the WR position though, since he played more QB in high school.
Bellamy is a guy that you could get a few touches a game just to see if he could break one.
Daniel Jackson might get into the mix at DT. I would like to see all the defensive lineman except Finley RS though.

From the Det News:
Safety Dior Johnson will be joining Buford at Minnesota. Cornerback Davontae Ginwright will be going to Western Michigan and safety Ja'Mar Antwine committed to Central Michigan, but will be attending Atlanta Prep School instead.
"We had some lock down kids in the secondary," Ginwright said. "Winning the regional championship was big, but we really wanted to win state. My highlight was when I had two picks (interceptions) in the playoff win over (Detroit) King.
"I'm going to Western Michigan because I like coach (P.J.) Fleck. He seemed real interested in me and I liked the program, it felt like home. They're building something big there."

Kenny Finley is a Big Ten caliber player. I would even go so far as to say high Big Ten caliber. I expect big things out of him.

Finley, Matich, Turner, and Braster could be a formidable defensive line for sure.
Eric Assoua has that Ameer Ismael hybrid thing going on.

As far as I'm concerned, the more of these guys we're able to redshirt, the better. With our depth improving with each new incoming class, there should be less and less of a need to rely on true freshmen. Obviously, a few will be talented enough to play right away - and we probably still need a few to play right away.
Sounds like a great incoming class on paper. Welcome, new Broncos!

Love this line:
Quote:"(WMU head coach) P.J. Fleck was a big reason for going to Western," Reaume said. "All the questions about Fleck seem to be if he's going to stay at Western or if he's going to leave for another job. It's never about whether or not he can coach or if he can win or if he can develop players.
"To me, that gives me confidence. If the only question is whether or not he's going to stay at Western, it means he's a great coach. I want that."

Excited for the defensive players coming in. Finley, Assoua, and Balabani are all tenacious and will form a strong core along with Mattich and Braster. Assoua is FAST off the edge.
The DB's are huge! Beal is 6-2, Ginwright is 6-3, Tranquill (4-star) is 5-11. Beal is fast and could return kicks.
Then there is Alex Grace, who is going to love playing with DePalma!
