RE: Official signing day thread
I'm at work so I can't watch, but does anyone know if this is saved on ESPN3 so I can view it later?

Appreciate the play by play on this by the way.

Yes, I believe that I saw earlier this week that you will be able to watch the replay later.

The most ridiculous way to rank a class.

Rivals has NIU ranked 2nd in the MAC and 82nd overall.

That's what HJ and I were saying, that's a really dumb way to rank teams. If you go by average, which makes more sense, we're 7th in the MAC.

It is funny how the ratings seem to increase. I do not see any recruits rated below a 5.2. A few years back, I can remember some being rated 4.9. I guess they are trying to generate interest in their product.

That list is complete crap. We all know that Toledo has the #1 recruiting class in the MAC, not Western Michigan. At the very least, Toledo should be tied for 1st, with NIU being 3rd. Could it be that the raters have lost their Toledo bone and gotten a PJ bone? PJ can do that to them! 04-jawdrop

Right...because of the number of our recruits.

Look at UTSA who is ranked ahead of us. They have two 3* kids (to our 5) but have 1 more kid signed. They have 2 kids with no stars and we don't have any with less than 2*. So even though their * average as a team is lower they are still ranked ahead of us just because of that 1 extra kid.

Joe Riggins does not appear among Akron's recruits so maybe he is still trying to qualify.

Wouldn't surprise me. Though that would make the ratings even more meaningless if they're squeezing recruits into a narrower range of ratings.

Even though the numbers are meaningless...we have 8 kids who are the highest rated 2*.

I am sure if a several of us were paying members and pushing our signed recruits to the ranking services, like some other MAC fans, we would have something closer to 10 3* kids in this class...with the same exact class.

Which is really working out because of the CPC and Yordon Center.

A few of the camps this past year had rain and they were forced inside. Thankfully they didn't have to go to the Rec!

Well that is very interesting. What a whirlwind that guy gave us and he may not be able to even make it into school?

Joe Riggins appears to have signed with Utah State

Loved how Coach Carey said that the players are the best recruiters. ~"They can tell who is one of us and who isn't pretty quick".

LOL. At least he made a smart choice and decided against Akron

Yea but they are including the preferred walkons in the star average. So had NIU not signed the preferred walk-ons the star average goes up but the total points goes down.

again one reason the average star rating is meaningless and best to look at overall points(assuming you put any credit in the rankings)
