I had DISH for years. They refused to upgrade my system that was over 5 years old.

I threatened to change if they didn't upgrade me and they said go ahead.

I haven't been happier since.

I get a discount on STARZ and HBO all the time, usually 50% off regular price, and anytime Encore, Skinemax, or Showtime are on special, I get them for free. My parents have DirecTV with the "wireless" package and there are still wires lol... Plus the router (or whatever it is that is the central point for the TV system) had an IP conflict with their wireless modem and had to be replaced. I admit that DTV has a far better guide now than they did, but it's even more full of ads than the last one. Absolutely horrible.

I'm much more happier with DISH. BRO!

Every time I come up for renewal, I call DirecTV with a competitor's introductory offer, state exactly what I want to pay, and always end up with exactly what I asked for. This year, I even got the NFL Sunday Ticket for free, as well as all the movie channels for 6 months.

Edit: Oh, and the new Genie box.

I got a different package from Comcast a few months ago, and they said it was good for 12 months. 3 months later, the amount on my bill goes up. I call them up, they tell me it was an equipment charge that went up. Crooks. But after complaining I'm (theoretically) going to get a lower rate for the next 12+ months. I'll have to watch that.
