Yea we owe them something after they beat us this year and cost us a major bowl game perhaps.

If that was the case, they did us a favor. The Huskies had enough trouble with Marshall. But it was not the case. The Arkansas loss still would have kept the Huskies out of the top 25.

We would have been ahead of Boise St.

Not sure Playing in a MAC/CUSA bowl and getting killed by Marshall is any better than playing in a NY6 bowl and getting killed by a NY6 P5 team.

That loss to CMU cost the MAC about 4mil.

How much pride are you willing to sell for 4 million? Marshall proved that they were the better team, but the stats were closer that the final score. The Huskies still had a shot at halftime.

Imagine if the Huskies had played someone like a TCU team upset about getting snubbed by the playoffs.

Not a single recruit or media person cares that the stats of the NIU/Marshall game were close.

If we would have been ranked over Boise St in the final poll then TCU would have gone to the Fiesta Bowl vs AZ and not the Peach Bowl vs Ole Miss who lost to TCU by 39 points. It would have been us in the Peach vs Ole Miss.

So playing an SEC team who was ranked #4 by the Committee in week 10, get 4mil for the conference on top of the crazy amount of press at the risk of a similar beat down given by Marshall...sure I'll take that any day.
