Ah. The sound of when you absolutely win an argument about sports.... academics come out.

Given the above, why does this conversation exists?

Because for all that, you're still in CUSA because your university is less than garbage.

Temple absolutely sucks. Your most well known alum is being accused of being a rapist in Puddin Pops Cosby.

Even without Cato and Shuler Im guessing Marshall would absolutely destroy Temple on the football field.

Ive been to Philly, one nasty city where the people boo everything including Santa. You couldn't pay me enough to even stay there one night. The Eagles suck, the 76 suck, the Flyers suck, the Phantoms sucked so bad they moved to Glenn Flalls NY, Drexel sucks, La Salle sucks, St Joe's sucks. And Temple brings up the suckage ten fold of all those others put together. If I had a college age kid I would absolutely refuse to let them go to any university in Philly.

Temple is in a better conference. Not what the rankings said at the end of the year. Every last one of them had CUSA ranked ahead of the AACk.

You are right about smack talk. Temple has absolutely no right to smack talk. Temple historically is one of if not the worst football programs in all divisions. Out of 27 coaches that Temple has had only 7 left with a winning record.

Talk to me again when Temple has a close .500 record over all. Right now it would take Temple having 10 straight perfect seasons to erase that.

RE: Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
I would send my child to UPENN my dream was to attend the Wharton school of Business

But the absolute best thing about Philly is the Penn Relays(ran their twice in HS) but everything else is trash but the nasty Cheesesteaks at Pats and Geno's to the million Nation of Islam dudes selling you oils at the Center City Mall. My friend went to Temple and within a week of moving into his dorm he had his car stolen.

I toured Temple when I was in HS with my mother and we counted 3 crackheads on campus begging for money.

The UPENN/Drexal area of Philly and the Main Line which isn't really Philly is the only 2 places of Philly that's worth a damn. Anywhere else is trash from the narrow as streets to the parking nazis that roam around the city to the violence and crackheads

RE: Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
-Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps
-I have no idea what 'Center City Mall' is
-Anyone with a car at Temple is asking for it to be broken into. Not really different than any other city.
-There are zero crackheads on campus.
-It's 'Drexel' and University City has plenty of issues. My brother went to the esteemed Wharton, so I'm well aware of the issues West Philly faces. I'm also from the Main Line.
-If you think University City is the only place in Philly worth a damn, you've never actually been here.

Your dream was to attend Wharton and you ended up at Marshall? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

There is plenty of North Philly crackheads that flock the Temple campus, walk to blocks from Broad street past the campus and it's like a war zone

And yes it was a dream of mine considered my uncle graduated with his MBA from there in 1999

Considering I went to Temple and you didn't, I think I would know. The area with homeless people/crackheads (many of whom are veterans, FYI), is not on campus. They do not venture on campus.

It's not remotely like a war zone. I already posted examples of murders in Huntington. Don't pretend crime doesn't happen there.

Does that really surprise you in a city of 1.5M+ versus a city of 50K? Guess what, New York City (your home!) is the same way.

Actually NYC has gone 12 days now without a murder, Philly is considered in the Top 10 most violent cities in America while NYC is considered one of Americas safest cities

Philly is actually 17th, and NYC is 39th. Cities ranked ahead of Philly include Miami, Nashville, Kansas City, and Washington, D.C. Murder is higher in Philly because of lax gun laws compared to cities like New York. One of the other sites that includes all cities with 25K+ people has Philly 55th ahead of Miami, DC, Atlanta, KC, Milwaukee, etc. The murder rate in Philly has actually gone down in the last 3 years.

I'm sure you'd be quick to call Miami, Atlanta, and DC dangerous, right?

According to stats, my town (About 30K) has had 2 murders in the last 11 years. Not bad for a bunch of rednecks carrying lots of guns in our pickups.

all of those cities seem dangerous to me.

My town in suburban Philly has zero crime and I never felt unsafe in Philly, even in North Philly. I find it funny someone from NYC is trashing Philly for having homeless/crackheads. New York has plenty of them. Cities by definition have more crime. That's how it has always been.

True. I don't care to visit any big city, but if I do I want to get in, do what I came to do, and get out. Don't want to move there, whether it is NYC, Philly, Detroit, Miami, LA, whatever. I have lived in very large cities before, would not go back. Heck, this one's getting too big. JMHO
