Aubrey Williams
He has come in for his share of criticism but he has been selected as one of two athletes to represent the MAC at the NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando. Pretty nice honor for Aubry and UT and especially nice as it will come right after the Rockets finish their run to the nCAA title. Sorry I can't link the story but it's on the main athletic site. Congrats to Aubry! Proud you're a a Rocket.

I have no problem with that Intelligent young man getting one of the scholarships the next 2 years. I feel he has gotten better every year and could still be a big contributor to this team the next 2 years.

i thought it was a good move by coach k to get him in the game early at niu. tough to keep your competitive edge without any meaningful playing time. just getting him in for a couple minutes a game down the stretch will make him able to contribute if someone gets hurt or we have foul trouble in a key game.

He'll have to play plenty of minutes next season.

eh, not so sure. boothe will play the 5. garber will back him up and play some 4. adway will have a chance to start as a frosh at the 4 and knapke could be a factor if he is strong enough on d. we're bringing in very talented 6-9 and 6-10 frosh so the 4 spot will be up for grabs. Also saw that pg recruit jaelan sanford's team is ranked #1 in indiana and top 25 nationally at 19-0

I've seen Knapke. At this point, I think he'd benefit from a red shirt year...but maybe he'll put more muscle on before next season. All I know about Adway is what I read, but he is certainly playing the right position on the right team to have a shot to start next season. Garber needs to show more improvement to get more minutes next season. Every now & then he shows a strong offensive move, but they've been few & far between. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on him.

yeah, garber is better than last year, but still not that good. i know knapke is super thin and plays against mid level hs talent, but i really like his skills. bcunn, what was your impression of his shot and feel for the game?

He reminded me of a thinner Boothe. Seemed to play comfortably 15 feet from the basket, nice shot, height gave him good vision. Of course he was also about 5 or 6 inches taller than anyone guarding him which is a luxery he won't have in college. But after reading the recent article on Boothe I am guessing that coach K sees Knapke as more of a high post weapon than low post.

RE: Aubrey Williams
Have to think Aubrey earned those early minutes with improvement at practice. He's still young and may surprise us all next year.
