Over 100 people have died in the past 10 years from the measles vaccine in the USA. 0 have died from the actual measles.

If you are going to make that claim you should provide a link from a reputable news or research source.

BTW
In 2013 alone, there were 145 700 measles deaths globally – about 400 deaths every day or 16 deaths every hour.

There has been no measles deaths reported in the U.S. since 2003.

Here's a database for vaccine complications, it won't allow me to link directly, but you can do your own search. Be sure to search for all 4 of the different measles vaccinations that were sold over the past 10 years. I found 114 deaths between 2004 and today.

I don't have kids, so I don't have an overly passionate opinion on this subject. I'm not anti-vaccine, I would just be wary of something that says right on the bottle that it can kill you. My (admittedly apathetic) opinion would probably change if/when I have kids.

The parents of the first girl should be entirely responsible for all of this financially. It is negligent to not get your kid vaccinated.

When it is your time to make the decision for your kids consider the odds:
114 deaths from the vaccines over 10 years = 11.4 deaths a year
>143000 deaths a year from measles and its possible complications

And the "scientist" who published the report that linked the MMR to autism has been totally debunked and retracted.
http://content.time.com/time/magazine/ar...77,00.html

Nothing in life is entirely safe but the benefits outweigh the risks of the MMR.

They say they are afraid of side effects, etc...; however, a side effect of Tylenol is possible renal failure. I wonder if they give their kids Tylenol?

It is just ridiculous that thanks to their failure to act responsibly other people should suffer.

Hell, I'd even let Disneyland go after them for lost income if it was up to me.

RE: Got measles?
It is no coincidence that this outbreak started where it did.
LA is a hotbed of the anti-vaccine movement. There is a higher concentration of the unvaccinated in Orange County than in other parts of the US. LA was a ticking time-bomb for an outbreak to occur.

The people that are immunized are fine. It's the idea that there are parents that put their own kids at danger that is crazy. These parents think they know better than the docs and point to one discredited vaccine study that suggested the MMR vacine caused autism. They conveniently ignore the fact that the paper's author had his medical license revoked and the paper was mocked by the medical community.

RE: Got measles?
It is still possible to get measles even if you are vaccinated.

The idiots who didn't vaccinate their kids and who now have it are in a slightly different boat.

Has anybody confirmed that every single case thus far has been with a person who wasn't vaccinated?

It is all really beside the point. The point is that if you are going to be a selfish ass and put others at risk, you pay.

I didn't know that you could still get measles if you wer vaccinated. If that is the case, then I understand why everyone would be upset.

Six of the cases are people who were vaccinated. Two of the six were not completely vaccinated as it requires more than one shot to achieve full immunity.
